We are in the DIY bed club, having a thick memory foam core and selective layers of padding on top of the bed. This is a great finisher. It keeps the layers of the bed together and give it a finished look with a comfortable, aesthetic top. This "topper" is actually pretty thin and will not make your bed softer. It would also serve as a great cover on traditional beds If you need a softer bed, you'll need a memory foam pad underneath it Its plenty deep to accommodate whatever you have going on The elastic holds tightly, although the elastic sides are rather thin. They are a little transparent. Although my queen bed measures smaller in real life (58x68) the queen size fit perfectly. It doesn't look extremely durable; I think I will just buy a second one right now and put it in the closet

I recently bought a 3 inch gel memory foam pad for my older very firm mattress, I wanted a little extra softness, this works great. Fluffed right up, no smell. Fit over a 7 inch traditional mattress with 3 inch foam topper. I sleep like a baby. Something that doesn't happen often for this fluffy broad with RA.

First, buy this ONLY if you want a glorified mattress pad - NOT if you want a true mattress topper. For the price it isn't terrible quality and the padding is decent - FOR THE PRICE ---NOT for what is advertised. I read all the reviews before buying this item. Ok, well not all but quite a few - the thing that really got me was how many people said the mattress "Topper" was not 1.5-2 inches thick and then how the company commented on their post that it absolutely was between 1.5 and 2 inches thick and that either they got a defective item or they must somehow be confused about what an inch is. But come on - seriously - do you see how many negative complaints they have gotten for the thickness of the pad? There is no way that many people are incorrect. I almost didn't get the item because of the terrible integrity of a company that not only CANNOT admit that they are incorrect in the thickness of their padding but ACTIVELY comments on every negative review saying that the consumer did something incorrect from measuring it to not following the directions of washing and then drying the item before using - because so many consumers put things straight on the bed without washing them first. (yes, I know I'm being a little sarcastic here - sorry - I am just not a big fan of how this company is doing business. However, I did buy the item - because I needed a mattress pad and wouldn't mind a little extra padding. Which is what I got - a little extra padding. I followed the directions and washed and dried the mattress pad and waited a couple of hours to put on my bed. At that time the mattress pad was probably about 3/4 of an inch thick and that is being generous. I put it on the bed over my 1 inch thick TRUE memory foam type mattress topper (Kohls - usually over $100 got it on sale for around $40ish). You can see the difference in the mattress pad on top of the 1 inch thick mattress topper in my pictures. Clearly, this item is not 1.5 inches thick or even an inch. As previously stated, I'm not unhappy with my purchase because I KNEW it was not a mattress topper but just a slightly padded mattress pad, mattress protector, mattress cover, etc. I gave this a 4 star review because as previously stated - for the price it is a decent product.

I was hoping this was the only topper I needed to buy for my mattress but no—this is not very thick. It’s the thickness of a cheap comforter. I wound up buying a 2 inch memory foam topper and then putting this on top—it worked great for that so I would not feel the weird memory foam. So think of it as a topper for your topper. I bought the full and had a full mattress, it fit well and was easy to put on. Since it is not thick, it has been easy to wash. Also keep in mind that the photo is right on with the stitching—even with a memory foam under it and a flannel sheet over it, I still saw the puffy squares.

It's not the most luxurious, but my son felt the difference day one considering he has a firm mattress. Pockets are deep and can easily fit mattress and box spring. No weird smell when you open it, but I washed it anyway. Overall happy with it.
