We used this carrier for our two kittens of about 4 months age. They aren't huge and the extra room of this carrier does help. The little extension on the side is nice touch. The zippers are kinda sticky and one of them always gets stuck at two particular locations around the curves. I might try waxing the runner. The carrier overall is pretty breezy and kittens could see outside from pretty much all the directions but they don't actually like it. The first time we put them in it they were terrified. Now whenever they see this carrier they run away and hide... poor babies. I am sure it is not the fault of this carrier as such. Apart from those zippers I think this is a pretty good pet carrier though I won't put a large cat in it.

I love this cat carrier for my 8 pound cat. She has enough space there to turn around if she wants to, and there are lots of mesh openings so that she doesn't feel closed in. The bottom is a hard liner enclosed in a soft top cover, which is easy to wash. That came in handy, since my cat ended up going number two in the carrier. The mesh is also easy to clean plastic, that's surprisingly sturdy. My cat is not a fan of carriers, and she kept trying to push her way out, but the material held strong. Very lightweight and easy to carry, love it

Small cat carriers can be cramped, especially for larger cats (photos are of an 8 pound cat). That this one can add space without having to take the cat out is great. You can't carry it with the extension out, but if you are sitting somewhere it an open extension would be great for the cat. With the extension open it is big enough to then put a small food and water dish in there. There is no space to put a cat dirt box inside and since cats like to be upright when using the dirt box even if you managed to fit something in there they might now use it (so think carefully about food and water if you are still on the road for a while since most cats want to "go" after they have eaten). I found the zippers were tight. Tight is a good thing though as it would be harder for cat action to unzip anything. If you are worried about that put TSA locks, strong twist ties, etc. through the zipper pull holes (or other small lock. TSA ones would be good because if you lose the key the airlines or other passengers can open it for you). Then they can't unzip it. When zipping you will need to carefully roll the zipper over the metal frame if the two end pieces aren't zipping up easily (rather than try to force it - as I said it is tight). Then it is much easier to zip. Also you have to zip both ends closed and then unzip the "door" in the one end if you want everything to stay upright (see the one photo) as the end pieces are the ones with the support rods for the vertical part of the carrier. The lid and bottom only has support rods down the long sides and not along the ends which is why it doesn't stand up on it's own without the ends attached. The only problem (which is fixable and is a mixed blessing) is that the padding seriously on the skimpy side (II'd give that part 3 stars but that isn't a choice to just rate that). It's a thin piece of fleece over a hard board of some sort. The other side appears to be waterproof material. The extension only has the thin fleece and no hard board. If you want to have your cat have a soft place to rest putting in a folded baby blanket folded in half and then in thirds (photo shows that) makes sense. As you can see from the photo there is no way to fold a baby blanket leaving enough padding to make the extension softer. For that you'd need a second blanket to put in after you open it (making sure your cat doesn't escape while doing that). There is a long leash with a clip inside (see photo). While they could still make a run for it they'd be dragging the carrier and I'd imagine wouldn't get far. There are small cat pillows and the inside pad of a covered cat bed would likely work as well. You need to make sure whatever you put in there isn't too high or they won't have enough head room. The upside of having to add padding is if the cat gets car/plane sick it is way easier to clean up (and replace) a blanket, pillow or towel than if they puke on the board. In that regards not enough padding isn't a flaw it is a feature for cat puke cleanup. The way they designed it I think it will hold it's shape over time, something not all soft carriers do. The bars are places in ways to help keep it's shape. The mesh is thick and sturdy. I think it would take some work for a cat to claw it's way out (and of course there is the leash). Also you can open the extra space without having to open the cat carrier. If you have a really large cat they may find it a bit cramped (but then again this would be a problem with all carriers that fit under an airline seat). The photos are of my 8 pound cat inside and as you can see she has plenty of room. As you can also see (well sort of see I had to put a light in there for the photo) when my cat was in there sideway going part way into the extension there was plenty of space left over for her both in length and width. All in all, this is well designed, the only improvement needs to be with the padding for the cat. If the company reads this it would make sense to design a removable pillow - one for the carrier without the extension open and one you can add after the extension is opened (or make the extension padding thicker). I gave it 5 stars overall because there is no choice for 4.5 and the padding problem is easily solvable and if you have a cat that gets motion sickness having to add padding is actually a "feature" for easier cleanup.

not durable at all, cause the net was torn by the cat, it started off from a small hole but once that happens, the hold expanded so quickly and then you cant use it anymore especially if your cats arent willing to stay in it willingly

Lots of zippers to use to get your pet in and out of this carrier. Light weight and very durable. It seems to be easy to wipe down to clean. My kitty went inside and snuggled in right away. My kitty approved. Easy to fold back to flat when not in use and a few zippers a viola, it's back to a nice size small pet carrier.
