  • Better than competition
I swear by these track balls as I have had ulner nerve issues and these are so much better than a mouse. I've always used a Logitech but this is even better. The ball moves very smooth and pops out easy for cleaning. I don't really care about the led lighting but it does remind me to turn the mouse off when work is over. I have a typical 8.5 hour work day 5 days a week and I can usually go three weeks on a charge before needing to plug it in for a night. When you forget, you can still plug it into a USB port and charge it while in use. The ability to use this from two different hand positions is a nice feature. I will say that the Bluetooth buttons at the heel of your hand are kind of annoying sometimes if you bump it in error as it stops it from tracking until you hit the button back to select the computer you are using it on. ... show more

  • Very nice trackball - competitive with Logitech's mid-range options
I am a longtime trackball user, and Logitech has been my go-to brand for years. The MX Ergo was my favorite, and I had a couple of them, but one had a rechargeable battery that stopped holding a charge, and when I changed my desktop decor, I found that the lower-end Logitech Ergo M575 in white was a better match. I wasn't looking for a new trackball, but when I saw the ProtoArc EM01 in white and silver with an adjustable angle similar to the higher-end Logitech MX Ergo, I thought I'd try it. Thus far, I'm delighted with it. The build quality is competitive with the M575, but the 20-degree adjustable angle makes a noticeable difference in hand position and comfort. The trackball itself rolls smoothly and has all the buttons and controls I need. The right-click button is a little more sensitive than I like, and I occasionally pull up the context menus inadvertently. I also wish it were a little heavier to augment the rubber bottom and keep the trackball in place. It's not that it moves too much; there's minimal movement, but it's noticeably lighter than the MX Ergo. I am also not into the RGB lighting scheme, but that can be turned off. Nevertheless, I'd rather have seen the engineering and resources devoted to something more functional. It's a good compromise between the two Logitech trackballs I previously owned, and I hope they will continue to refine it. UPDATE: I swapped out the trackball with a third-party one I purchased on Amazon because it felt slightly heavier in my hand than the original one. It works well, so that's an option should you choose to do it. The original one was fine, but if the replacement is a little heavier, it will add some helpful heft. ... show more

  • amazing multi device
very nice having the option of bluetooth and wireless usb, even better that you can link it up to 3 seperate devices and press a button on the mouse to swap between devices without having to re sync everytime you want to change device

  • Prefer it to the MX Ergo that it replaced
I was using an MX Ergo for a couple of years, but ran into the issue with the mouse button clicks not holding the click when dragging windows/files. I was also seeing issues with the soft outer layer breaking down and becoming tacky. So, I searched for a similar replacement mouse to which there was none. I kept searching for months before this ProtoArc trackball mouse was released. I made the purchase and after switching over have not looked back. The ProtoArc mouse is a full plastic outside for where you rest your hand so no concerns with that breaking down/flaking away and getting that sticky feeling. I had a carrying case for my MX Ergo and this ProtoArc mouse was able to fit into it as this mouse is an almost exact match for the MX Ergo. Clicking and scrolling has been flawless so far. What I also like better than the MX Ergo is that this mouse effectively can pair with 3 devices (1 with fob and 2 with bluetooth) where as the Ergo can only pair with 2. So far, the only downside with this mouse, which does not affect me that often, is that the trackball is a little loose. You will only see this become an issue if you are not on a flat surface, say sitting on a couch and have the mouse next to you on the cushion on an angle. When this happens you will start to see your pointer start to move across the screen as the trackball is moving with any movement on the couch. The Ergo trackball was a higher fit and did not experience this issue. As long as you keep the mouse on a level surface this does not occur. Overall I am glad I made this purchase instead of buying another MX Ergo. ... show more
