I purchased this portable propane heater for the horse barn. The unit worked after making temperature adjustments with slight leaking at the water inlet. We are testing a quick connect to remedy that. We also found that the hose is too short for an average sized horse and had to keep moving her around. There is no option for a longer hose from the seller so we are going to try to make one ourselves.

If I could give this product a 0 stars I would. Out the box, it did not come with all the hoses needed to work. It came with the shower attachment and the propane hose. You have to install both hoses and hope the fittings wouldn't leak. Purchased separate hoses and fittings to try to get it to work. Once everything was installed, tried to get the item to stay on was pointless. It would come on, but then go back out (the heater flame) over and over again. Tried to return this item back, but the seller does not accept returns. I had to call Amazon to get my money back from this Defective Product. Whatever the eternal mechanism was doing, it wasn't. Buyer beware of this item. Save your money and Purchase a Camplux Portable Water Heater (Made in America by Americans) and save precious time and money.

I've been a near full-time boondocker for years. With a couple of weeks of near daily use with this unit I can say it's highly impressive. I've used similar units for many years and this is definitely an upgrade to my previous water heater (a well known and reliable brand name). The flow rate is much better at lower pressures which is a real battery saver when you're living off solar. I use a remote battery with a stand alone water pump and small accumulator tank to feed it from local water sources or a water bladder out of the back of the truck. With the reduced pump times I've been seeing about a 20% energy savings and am still getting better flow rate from the showerhead. On the LP side I've also noticed some savings, although I admit I haven't been weighing my tank to really quantify the consumption rate. My last refill was a couple pounds less than normal, though. There may have been other factors involved but my usual consumption is quite consistent and I do believe the new water heater played a part. It might seem like a small thing but I really appreciate the digital temp readout. I don't know how accurate it is to the actual water temperature, but it is consistent. Allowing me to dial in just the right temp right out of the gate. That also translates into energy, water and LP savings when you don't have to waste resources fiddling with the water temperature. As far as a con. I wish it had a free standing option. My old one had a folding stand that allowed the unit to sit upright on it's own so it didn't always require hanging and for draining after use. This one doesn't. It's not a deal breaker since it can be drained after use while still hanging, but when no ones around and you have a nice long lake/river side shower, it's nice to be able to pack everything back to camp to drain and dry rather than leave it hanging and then remember to go back later to retrieve it. A small thing really, but I do miss that feature. Longevity is yet to be determined. My last one I coddled along for nearly 10 years, so we'll see with this one, but it appears very well built, the fittings are secure and the exterior of the unit does run cooler than my old one. All-in-all I'm very happy with this unit and the price is certainly quite budget friendly.

I installed this as an outdoor shower attached to a propane tank. It was incredibly easy to install. It works well. It has decent pressure. The water temperature controls is intuitive and easy to configure. I haven't had any issues whatsoever.

I love how well made this $126 outdoor-use Topwish propane water heater (Amazon ASIN B0F4ML4J4T) is, with copper coils and sturdy brass and aluminum fittings. All the connections are well labeled, and it handles almost any water pressure you can give it, and it heats up the water quickly for a shower with just a garden hose running into it and the supplied shower head as the output. The hardest part of using this propane heater is mounting it to the wall as you want a safe and permanent mount. However, if you don't want a solid mounting on a wall, you can hang it from a sturdy steel hook connected to the top of the unit. The specifications written on the tank are: TopWish Portable Gas Water Header Model AWH-003 Gas Type Propane Rated Gas Pressure 11 inches Water Column Rated heat input 37.500BTU Applicable water pressure 20 to 120psi Capacity 1.45 GPM (gallons per minute) Rated Voltage DC 3V In terms of specifications, 37,500 BTU is a decent amount of on-demand heating power for a portable unit. The capacity is a bit low for a typical shower which is generally between 1.5 GPM and 2.5GPM, but an ultra-low-flow shower head would only use about 1 GPM, so it won't be waterfalls of hot water but it is enough for one person to easily take a shower outside. With my input water temperature currently at about 60°F, the 37,500 BTU unit can raise 1.45 GPM of water by approximately 50°F above that, which is too hot for me to even take a shower so I have to dial it down to around 105°F to about 110°F or 115°F at most. The advantage of the 3V battery is the ignition needs to be truly portable. Overall, this is a fantastically versatile outdoor-only propane heater for on-demand hot water for single-person outdoor showers.
