I like the compact ability to haul this around vs my Acetylene tank and torch. The maneuverability together with the ability to utilize the high heat capacity of the map gas gives this tool a lot of flexible uses, not to mention the self igniter is a real plus. This is a real nice tool.

Self igniter stops working within a month of use. I’ve had this torch for three months but it stayed in the shop until last week. My third time using it in the field as a plumber the igniter stopped working. The torch works fine once lit but the electric start doesn’t work. I’ve tried to fix it, replace battery, tighten etc but it’s no good. I even bought a protection plan but of course Amazon uses a vendor who won’t honor the plan.

I love this tool. It is so easy to light compared to my old torch head. Just push the button and it light every time. No fumbling around looking for the bic lighter, or flint striker. The flame stays stable when the torch is upside down, doesn't flare up in that position. It is a joy to use. Makes soldering almost fun. And it is very handy for lighting my wood stove or fireplaces. I would be lost without now. Great tool, and I highly recommend it. 5 stars...

this is what you buy if you are looking for to heat up some metal. right now, I'm using map gas. it gets the metal red hot in seconds. this was an upgrade for me. i was looking for just the hose to add to my setup. but really glad i got this worth the money.

2 stars because I think it shouldn't have passed inspection. First, fair disclosure: To return any item is a problem for me, so I didn't contact the seller so I have no valid opinion of their support. That said, my torch head leaked immediately upon testing out of the box.The smaller tube was noticeably cocked at an angle & leaked at it's base. No damage to the box. It seems like an assembly error, & it should've been easily spotted by eye before packing. So ordered an identical-looking unit from a different source & I'm really pleased with this design. Took me ~45 seconds to free up an old rusted-in O2 Sensor that I'd spent hours trying to loosen using a hobby-grade torch head and literally every style of O2 Sensor wrench I found on the market (with one exception that wouldn't have suited my space confines).
