  • Exceptional Quality and Performance!
Style: Classic, Forward 5A Color: Lacquer, Wood Tip Size: Four Pairs
I couldn’t be happier with the ProMark Classic Forward Hickory 5A Drumsticks! As a drummer who plays a mix of genres, these sticks have become my go-to choice for every session. The hickory wood construction provides an excellent balance of durability and responsiveness. The 5A size is perfect for both precision and power, making them versatile enough for everything from jazz to rock. The oval wood tip delivers a warm, rich tone on cymbals and a clean attack on drums, which is exactly what I need for live performances and recording. I also love how comfortable these drumsticks feel in hand. The forward weight distribution helps me achieve consistent control without feeling fatigued, even during longer sessions. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just starting out, these drumsticks are a fantastic choice for both adults and youth. ProMark has really nailed it with this product—an absolute must-have for any drummer’s kit! Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Surprised By The Durability
Style: Classic, Forward 7A Color: Lacquer, Wood Tip Size: Four Pairs
Maybe I'm not as strong as I think I am or maybe I naturally play lighter using these sticks, but after a gig not only did this manage to help me bring the volume level down without changing how I play, but they looked like I barely used them afterwards! I'm not a hard hitter, but I have managed to break a brand new 5A before the end of a 45 minute set (though probably just a fluke). These sticks held up through two 90 minute sets and looked like I had barely touched them. I can't explain it. The 5As I use are also Promark Hickory, but there's just something about these 7As. Don't get me wrong, any gigs where I'm allowed to be louder, I'm picking the 5As. But for playing quieter without changing my dynamics or switching to rods or brushes, these sticks are great. ... show more

  • My fave drum stick brand
Style: Classic, Forward 5A Color: Lacquer, Wood Tip Size: One Pair
This has been my fave drum stick. Been using promark since 2017. Not too big not too thick. I use this with my td02kv roland drums. I also got this for my nephew and he likes it whether to use in electric drums I gave him (td4kp) or acoustic drums. He said its very comfortable

  • Been using this size Hickory drumstick for practice/rehearsal since 1973
Style: Classic, Forward 5A Color: Lacquer, Nylon Tip Size: One Pair
I've been using 5A Hickory drum sticks - nylon tip - for practice/rehearsal since joining a rock band with friends in middle school in 1973. I learned jazz drumming as a kid, and was used to 7A and even 11A (lighter sticks) for performance. I found the 5As perfect for practice, especially because anything you can do fast on the drums - fill-ins, etc, cymbal play - you can do faster with 7As (in performance). It's like using a weighted bat for practice and a regulation weight bat for games. Anyway, so I found a deal on these Pro Mark Hickory 7As and grabbed it, thanks to Amazon. I needed them for practice as my old 5As are my original pair, from 1973, and are cracked and aged. And I'm in another rock band, with friends/neighbors, Dadd Co., like in my teen years. And, frankly, playing a lot of the same music! ... show more

  • I may have found THE perfect stick!
Style: Classic, Forward 5A Color: Lacquer, Wood Tip Size: One Pair
I have bought only one pair of Promark sticks in the past ten years or so. I had been quite satisfied with Vater, Regal Tip and Vic Firth. But I decided to grab a pair of these 5A Promark sticks (oval wood tip) from Amazon, especially because they were at a special low price. They are everything I'd hoped they would be. They felt great in my hands and I loved the finish. The weight was perfect too. The sticks were also flawless; perfectly straight, and they were exact twins of each other. I'm a fan of the logo too. Though logos are unimportant, I tend to look at what the stick printing looks like and where it is on the stick, and Promark does it just right. I like a good clean sound on my cymbals, and these gave me that sound. Though it was subtle, I was comparing the sound with my other 5A sticks, and I liked the Promark better. I felt like I got a bit more articulation than my other 5A's. These are just fantastic all around sticks! I couldn't be happier. ... show more

  • The Perfect Drumstick
The Pro-Mark "Natural" 5A drumsticks, with the wooden tip, are the best sticks around for several reasons. I should first mention that I'm a heavy hitting drummer, so this review is really intended for other heavy hitters. Lighter hitters might prefer a smaller, lighter stick, or a nylon tip, or whatever light hitting drummers prefer. Having said that, on with the review. 1. The taper. Pro-Mark sticks have milder taper than other manufacturers. While this taper means a little extra weight on the stick, it also means fewer broken sticks. Pro-Mark sticks have always outlasted the Vic-Firth, Vater, Zildjian, or off-brand sticks I've used. Mainly because they don't suffer from that quick break that often happens about 2 inches from the tip. 2. Wooden tip. While wooden tips chip away, which can degrade the overall sound; they don't fly off the drumstick, as nylon tips are prone to do. I tried nylon tips in my early days, but I eventually got tired of replacing a 'barely worn' stick, simply because the tip had broken off. 3. 5A. This is just a personal preference. The 5A seems to be a very common size. Again, I hit hard, and fast. 5Bs (and larger) are too weighty, and sticks smaller than the 5A (like the 747) don't carry enough weight for a good punch, or they're too short for my preference. 4. Unlacquered. This is really what makes the "Naturals" stand apart. Other manufacturers make unlacquered sticks as well, although I avoid them as I mentioned in reason 1. The unlacquered sticks are a little lighter (making up for the weight added in the taper), and just an an overall amazing grip. I know sticks are really all about preference - so that's just my opinion on these guys. Awesome sticks! ... show more
