I have had clay moisteners before, but this container with its terra cotta disc really works. The seal is indeed air tight; in fact, it a fairly strong pull to open. The moistening disc sits under the lid and provides moisture to the brown sugar without direct contact; even so, the sugar stays loose and easy to use. Needed something to store sugar and this is fantastic. Easy to fill with top coming off completely. Pouring spout is easy and works really well. Get this if you’re debasing. fits a whole 5lb bag of sugar. Love it!

This is amazing for the price considering you get 3. I used a water bottle for size comparison. The quality is very good and very sturdy. The only reason I gave this 4 stars out of 5 is because the lid is a little difficult to open but I guess I means that it’s air tight enough. Also closing it is a bit difficult but it won’t hinder my life honestly. Other than the lid closing and opening I genuinely enjoy these containers. ... show more

    • Great replacement for the old Progressive Prokeeper Coffee Keeper

About 7 years ago, I moved all of my baking supplies from Oxo Pop containers, to Progressive Prokeepers and it was a great choice. I have multiples of this particular container, holding various flours and even brown sugar. Most recently, I bought this one because I dropped my coffee keeper, and it shattered. I keep my coffee keeper on a scale, to keep my coffee fresh and allow auto-orders to trigger automatic orders when coffee gets low. Progressive doesn't make the older style of coffee keeper anymore, and the cost to buy one was very high. But this brown sugar container is the same size and at least close in weight to the coffee keeper. The coffee keeper is tinted, but I keep my coffee beans in the bag, so my main concern was protecting my beans from oxygen. It has worked fine as a replacement. So I'm happy. ... show more
