I was excited to pick this projector because it had so many 5 star reviews. When I received the projector, it came with a note offering a free gift valued at $20. I contacted customer support to pick my free gift, which I thought was just nice customer service. Turns out, it's in exchange for sending a snap shot of your 5 star review. When I said I wasn't going to do that because I prefer honest reviews, they tried to say I misunderstood their English. In any case, the projector had a lot of problems. From the beginning, it froze randomly and had trouble playing files off a USB (which was the main reason we got it, for digital halloween decorations) I tried communicating with the customer service and tech representatives. Because they're in China, the responses were always delayed. They told me I needed a software update, which they emailed me. I followed the instructions exactly, and after installing the soft ware update, the projector wouldn't even turn on. Very disappointing! Will be returning. ... show more

I'm using this projector for a Halloween/Christmas display on the inside of my house. The projector is shining onto a frosted shower curtain that is covering a window in my upstairs hallway. This projector has a key feature that I think would be helpful to list on Amazon. That's the Timer mode. First, plug in the projector, set the current time and then adjust the On Timer and the Off Timer. So at 6:30PM the projector turns on and I have a Raspberry PI running FPP (Google it) that loops my AtmosFx videos. It runs until 9:30PM when the show stops and the Off Time turns off the projector. It's completely automated. So I ordered this projector about 2 weeks ago. I started messing around trying to get things setup. That's when I tried to configure the bluetooth function to connect to a Bluetooth speaker. My hopes were to get this working so I could put the speaker outside on Halloween and play the ghoolish sounds for the Trick or Treaters. I was unable to get the bluetooth to pair but neglected to turn off the bluetooth function. I configured the timer and got things setup in the hallway. That first night, the projector turned on and everything displayed perfectly. The projector is nice an bright and is still visible outside when someone turns on the hall light (so now backlit). When it was time for the projector to turn off, it didn't happen. The next morning, when I woke up, the projector was still on. The remote didn't work and none of the buttons on the top of the projector worked either. I had to pull the power to get it to turn off. After turning back on, everything functioned as it should. I repeated this for the next 3 nights with the same results. That's when the best part of this story happened. I contacted Yaber's tech support and they responded! Not only did they respond once, but they listened to what I was having trouble with and sent me an updated firmware. It turns out there was a bug in the Bluetooth function that was locking up the device. Once I turned that off, the timer worked fine. I haven't tried to configure the Bluetooth function again since I don't really need it, but it's working great for my needs.     • Brought a Zoom meeting to life!

We used this for a virtual surprise party. It worked fantastically. I have used it for a movie but the real benefit of this was having my family members lifesized on the screen. I didn't take any pictures but we decorated the frame area with balloons and stuff and it really popped. The picture was beautiful and the refresh rate made viewing from my laptop, where the camera on our side was, seamless. What was on the screen of my computer was on the wall with no delay. I will say that if you are using it for a movie with a couple of family members the sound is fine but if your background is noisy it's only as good as a phone so you need to get an external speaker. Otherwise, I feel like this thing has already paid for itself by the party, bonfire movies, and homework recorded lectures from Zoom, Panopto, Sakai, Google Classroom, Blackboard, etc. I'm thinking of getting another for my nephew so he can see his virtual classroom bigger. It has Bluetooth capabilities but it actually comes with all the cords you would need to hook it up manually. ... show more

From the moment I got the projector, I started having issues. It just randomly started going on “stand by” mode and there wouldn’t be a way of getting it out, the controller wouldn’t work on this mode and the buttons the projector has wouldn’t work either. The only way I got it to work was to unplug it for a while (hours or even over a day) and plug it again and it would sometime work. Now all of the sudden it just goes straight into “stand by” mode no matter how long I have it disconnected, as soon as it gets connected it goes to this mode, this has been over a week or two that i haven’t been able to use the projector due to this issue, I contacted support and they were not able to fix it for me. The media could not be loaded. This projector is awesome. High quality/price ratio. I bought this projector for my kids to take online classes. This projector met my demanding needs. 1. The picture is very clear, it shows the text without blurry even at the edges of the screen. 2. It is bright enough and shows clear pictures even in a lit room where it’s comfortable for the kids to read and write. 3. HDMI connector is included 4. Easy to set up and adjust. It is a great investment to buy. Helped to avoid the kids stare at a small screen for a long time each day. Effectively protected the little eyes.
