    • Defective - but manufacture (Proform) made it right!
I bought this water pump for a customer's Custom Rat Rod build. We finally got around to installing it and found it's defective and leaks straight out of the box. Never even installed it. Now the return window has closed on Amazon. *update: I called the manufacture directly and they're sending me a new part! I will buy from this manufacture again! 10/10 for Proform ... show more

I have had no issues with the efficiency of the pump but, when installing it I discovered that a couple of the pretty, stainless steel socket head cap screws that came with the pump were too long and bottomed out against the cylinder wall inside the water jacket. That, in turn, prevented the pump from sealing against the gasket and it leaked coolant. Eventually, I removed all four bolts, cut about 1/4" off each, dressed the ends, and ran a die over the threads. After this operation, the pump sealed and ran smoothly. For what it's worth, I have a standard production Chevrolet 350 block. I don't know how much aftermarket blocks would differ. ... show more
