Genuinely didn’t expect there to be so much stuff in the kit especially for a beginner kit and the price. The instructions provided are very useful and the kit has a very easy organized storage.

I just picked up this waxing kit in my first impressions are very positive. Both of my kids ski and just learned how to wax their skis at their high school and thought them having their own equipment would be a good idea. The iron is actually pretty darn nice. I have a name brand to compare it to and this one heats up quickly and the heat seems to be relatively even. Temperature adjustment dial makes it easy to get it correct for the specific wax. It does only come with two brushes. I’m used to having a third. That is a very soft brush so that may be something that you want to add. But it does come with a wide snowboard scraper, but not a smaller one specific to skis. It also comes with black and clear PTXx sticks in base cleaner. The case is really nice and sturdy. Indefinitely ideal to have all of your waxing materials in one location. This in addition to some clamps and a table will give you the perfect waxing station. Overall, a very good value for your money and plenty of storage capacity and functionality. I’ll try to provide an update once I’ve used the iron.

Kits like these are always a mixed bag, where some tools are definitely useful, while others are just very niche use or just not the right tool or quality, so that it actually ends up being frustrating to use. For this kit though, its a good starting point, and like others have said, be sure to reference other resources to help make sure you are using the tools correctly, and to know when its a "practice makes perfect" thing, or "this is the wrong tool" issue. It is still a good way to be able to get your hands on a variety of tools and supplies though, especially if you are just getting into the sport.

This has EVERYTHING you need! What an awesome set! My family snowboards, and I'm so excited to do this myself. The brushes are top notch wood handles. The iron heats up fast and has a lot of temp settings dependent on your wax you have. It functions very well and is a good size. The case is a rigid soft case that organizes everything well and protects the iron. Pull up a how-to video on it, this set has more that what you would need as a DIYer. It seems like a great value.

So, "all-in-one" is not quite true as you still need a ski/board vice. But if you get that and this, you have everything you need to tune/wax your ski or board. The case is really nice, the iron and brushes are good quality. You can see from the photo that the brushes were pretty much exactly like my existing ones. The base edger built into the side edger is clever, but isn't as nice as a proper base edger - you can see the difference in my pic. The things you will likely want to consider adding on to this are a horsehair brush for polishing and a fine grit file for the edges. The wax is cheap too, I'll use it for summer wax, but for a beginner, it will be good to start with this so you don't waste the expensive stuff by over waxing.

This is a great kit. I love that it comes with everything needed to wax and tune my skis. The inclusion of written instructions is great. The instructions and a YouTube video provided all that was needed to tackle the project, and I felt pretty confident to do it myself. I appreciate that not only does the kit include everything needed, but it also comes in a great little case that holds all the tools and materials. It took a bit of research to figure out what angle to tune my skis to, but I was able to find out how my skis were tuned when they were originally bought, so that seemed like a good start. This kit is a great value for the current price of about $70.
