I recently upgraded my water bottles and was looking for a backpack that could accommodate them. (The bag is used as a day bag when out and about with family/scouts.) The side pockets of this bag serve that purpose well. They easily fit my 24oz and 40oz ThermoFlask metal bottles. The clips on the side help the bottle stay put so you don’t have to worry about it falling out. (You strap it around the top part of the bottle that sticks out of the pocket.) My only complaint is the zippers. The big, main pocket has two zipper pulls (so you can open it from the top) but the other two pockets only have one zipper. (I know this is standard for backpacks.) The “problem” is that the two extra pockets are so big. They are both big enough to hold a standard notebook. My frequently used items go in those pockets and the main compartment is used for the first aid kit, extra jacket, extra supplies, and other less used items. Having only one zipper and needing to open from the side often results in things falling out of the smaller pockets when opening them. If those pockets had two zippers, I’d have given this bag 5 stars. ... show more

This backpack looks really high-quality! It’s large will fit tons of stuff, a full size laptop, and a weekends worth of clothes I really like it it’s just bigger than what I need. I found a mini backpack that will take care of everything that I need. I just need a small backpack that I can put a change of clothes a toothbrush and smaller things on the plane in case my luggage gets lost. I’ve got the Bare Necessities with me I’m really not trying to do a lot of carry-on. It is a lovely bag though. ... show more

We bought two backpacks, the first one lasted about 10 months before it got torn, the second one lasted the whole school year, she loves it so much and it's still in great shape she will take it with her to middle school. no need to buy a new backpack this year unless something happens!

Only the largest picket has 2 zippers, the rest only have one. Makes opening the larger pockets less convenient. Materials and construction are good so far.

I bought this bag to use on a trip to the East Coast. I used it as my carry-on. It had lots of room, mesh pockets on the outside to hold my water bottle, slots on the inside to hold my snacks and other stuff that I wanted to make sure that I had with me.
