This case has been extremely sturdy. As a gigging musician, I’ve put it through it’s paces on stage and off. Buttons work very well with case on. I find that the neoprene handle and kickstand have been VERY useful when running sound from the iPad. However, it could use a few improvements. Because of the thickness of the case and the location of the hand strap, it’s difficult to put this in a Mic stand mount. I’ve found myself wrapping the strap around the mount to secure it. Also because of case thickness, thicker chargers are sometimes difficult or impossible to fit in the port cutout. Overall pretty great case, but could use a little more refinement in design

UPDATE, 2-1/2 years after purchase: I am confirming everything I wrote below, and more. I LOVE this protector / case. With most products of any category on Amazon, after 2+ years I’d have already had to replace it. But T his case is a cockroach: It’ll live forever. I knock it off the couch or bed at least once a week and the iPad sustains virtually no damage. Highly, HIGHLY recommend. ORIGINAL REVIEW from January 2021: I wanted a case that would offer maximum protection at a reasonable price, and this is that, for sure. It’s seriously beefy — like, I feel it should come in camo green. (I’d buy that.) It’s the Humvee of the case world. So if you like a minimal profile, this is not for you. It has serious rubber corners that are higher than the screen. (Though I did buy a screen protector, because it’s much cheaper to replace a cracked screen protector than it is a screen.) I thought I was going to hate the handle but turns out it’s actually a helpful feature, and very comfortable. Love the kickstand when I’m cooking from an online recipe. In two weeks I’ve already dropped it twice 🙄, and the case just laughed. (That is, no damage to my iPad.) One caveat: As others have said, it is ridiculously difficult to “install.” Directions are vague and confusing. Three intelligent humans spent 10 minutes trying to put it on my iPad. Luckily, one of us (ahem, not me) had an aha moment and cracked the code. But buyer beware of the poor directions, then decide if you’re willing to go through the frustration. Highly recommend.

This case seems solid. I'll try to address some of the complaints I read through before buying. If someone's thumb is having a hard time hitting the home button, it's because they've put the iPad in upside down. It fits, and it's functional when upside down, but the hole for the camera is not ideal for accessing the home button. As far as breaking the case right away, it would certainly be possible. The case is made of two hard plastic frame layers with a central layer of silicone that extends to the outer corners. When assembling or disassembling it, it would certainly be possible to break part of the plastic frame, but once assembled it feels very solid. I found the plastic frame pieces to be forgiving and flexible, so I didn't get the sense that I needed to be excessively gentle when handling the parts. Other stuff: The stand works in both portrait and in landscape mode. The little clips for the shoulder strap are easy to remove. I'll do an update here if my impressions change or if we have a big drop to really test this thing, but I have no complaints so far. Edit March 2021 - We've had a few drops from about waist height on an adult. One was on a tile bathroom floor. In each case the iPad just went kind of bouncing or tumbling away. Would I do some kind of drop test if I cared about my iPad? No. Is the screen currently cracked? No. It's survived many pandemic hours with our toddler who's known far and wide (in our house) as a capable destroyer of things.

I purchased my case 6 months prior to writing this review, and my iPad sees almost daily use between myself and my toddler. I have the case paired with a tempered glass screen protector. The case was pretty easy to install, there are a few steps, and a small insert with directions. I recommend putting any screen protectors on the tablet first. The back handle takes some getting used to, but has become very comfortable to me, and the kickstand is pretty strong. The case itself features rubbery outer sections, which make the case very grippy and provide shock absorption. (Which has been needed. My toddler has thrown and dropped the tablet several times, with absolutely no damage incurred.) The case is rugged and feels very protective, and in black it looks pretty much like all of my devices. Adult and even professional. My only dislike for the case is the pencil slot. I don't use a stylus, and don't plan to. I wish there was a way to tuck it in, so there isn't just a little rubber tunnel sticking out of the case. That said, this is a small complaint for the many positives. I would definitely recommend this case, and a tempered glass screen protector (you can find 3 packs on Amazon for $10 or less.)

This case is top notch for children that are rough! Let me tell you about this case. My 8 year old got an iPad for his 8th birthday and I purchased this case for him. Needless to say, a month after having his iPad and new case, I accidentally put the iPad on top of my car, forgot and drove off on the service road. Later that day, we found the iPad and case and after it was ran over by several cars, the rubber on the case still looked new but of course, the plastic on the case was broken but only on the edges. The iPad didn’t survive but by the way this case is made and for being ran over by several cars in a busy intersection, this case tried its best! We got a replacement iPad and yes, I sure as hell purchased this case again and for my 7 year old iPad as well. It’s very sturdy, solid proof and very shock proof! I absolutely stand by this product. It’s almost like an otter box for an iPad but a fraction of the cost. GET THIS SUCKER!!
