This is a very well made dolly. The kit contains everything needed (except the tubes) for use on C-stands or on the ground or a flat surface. I did not purchase the $220 8' aluminum tube kit...yet...but purchased some fence posts (smooth, black) from Lowes as a starter for a total of $70. I'll eventually get the track. The test shooting I've done with a Miller DS-25 head that I picked up new in the box (even though it's not a new fluid head). It's a 100mm bowl and the adapter comes with the dolly. I also have a Sachtler 75mm fluid head that works with it very nicely. The package showed up exactly when promised, and it was in excellent shape - including the carrying case. ... show more

You don’t need a fancy dolly to get a good shot. It’s all in the way you use it. if you run a tight budget make sure you don’t spend more on something that can do the same thing.

A fantastic dolly across the board, having previously used a Dana Dolly on other productions. I’m pleased with this. One thing that caught me off guard was realizing that the shuttles the wheels are mounted on can be shifted laterally. Initially, each shuttle—with its four wheels—wasn’t making full contact with the track, which was concerning. But after flipping it over, I saw that they just needed to be adjusted to align properly with the rails. Solid construction overall. I wouldn’t expect it to withstand the rigors of a large-scale production long-term—it’s certainly not as robust as the Dana Dolly system—but it does offer more flexibility, particularly in allowing the rails to sit very low to the ground. Check out the video for more details. The setup shown here uses the Proaim slider stands, which are identical to the ones made by Kupo. Because of that, I purchased Kupo 100mm caster wheels to use with them. The wheels don’t sit perfectly vertical, but they’re the closest fit I could find to make this a more portable dolly system. ... show more

    • SOLID STURDY EQUIPMENT
Very impressed with the skater dolly The end pieces are versatile and a little extra work doesn't justify, at least to me, spending that much more to get, say, a DD. Very well made glide smooth as silk. Got the rails from a local metal co. Used Anodized spray paint from Amazon save a bundle.
