They are not quite as nice as my even more expensive version. They have a reasonable grippy surface which makes ball control easier. Ordered this as yet another racket after I suprisingly found myself short of few yet again. Just found myself getting into the sport after years of tennis and our local park wisely deciding to convert 3 poor condition barely used tennis courts into 8 pristine pickleball courts. I initially hated the sound and idea as a tennis player but after watching some people play, I suspected a better racket might change my feelings about the game, since I'd previously only tried a wooden racket. omg, it makes a world of difference and this racket is a good example that it doesn't cost a lot to get a decent one. Carbon fiber textured face for spin, light weight but balanced for swing, core for some vibration dampening and you're good, at least to get started and to enjoy the game. This comes with individual head cover, nice giftable retail box and warranty card.
