Great boat just not as fast as advertised out-of-box. I have noticed the glue used for internal structure melts the outer shell so the bottom is definitely not smooth and flat. The hardware on the back is ok for being a production boat, the turn fins and mounts definitely need to be more heavier gauged. RC boat bitz has got a great solution and probably the best hardware for the SSW48 and other proboat models. The self-righting works wonderful. Overall it’s a great boat and it looks awesome.     • Great boat. It's large and in charge.
I have had this boat for two weeks now and have taken it out every day with the exception of one day. It has been a blast to drive and run and I've had zero problems with it. It gets a few droplets of water inside, which may be coming off the canopy when I remove it, but all in all it remains dry. It's a real joy to operate and has provided me hours of fun. You just need to do routine maintenance on it after each run and dry it off. There's tons of you tube videos on the internet covering this boat.     • What battery pack to use?
It’s worth buying but use the smaller pack batteries 5060 800s don’t use the 10,000 you’re too heavy

The media could not be loaded. As a kid I thoroughly enjoyed this hobby until my boat caught fire after a run one day. I want to get back into it now and have learned some valuable lessons I’d like to share. If you’re set on buying this boat make sure you test it first in a controlled environment before running it on a pond or lake. I’ve bought two of these boats. One from here and one from Horizon Hobby (the owners of pro boat) & both had the same exact leak in the back just sitting in water before I even got the chance to run it. My disappointment was immeasurable. Not only is the quality control for a boat this expensive a joke but the return process is the worst experience I’ve ever had as a customer. Because of this, DO NOT buy batteries for your rc boat unless it’s from a place you can return them. Now I’m stuck with a bunch of batteries I cannot return. Update: horizon made the situation right and offered a refund of return. I was gonna go with a refund but decided to give it another shot since I have a bunch of nonreturnable batteries. This thing has put the biggest smile on my face, it’s even more fun than my blackjack 24. If you have the patience to deal with the type of situation I was in it’s worth the time. ... show more

My 8th Pro Boat and this thing does not disappoint! It’s fast and it handles great. It loves whatever water I can throw at it and doesn’t necessarily need the smoothest to have fun. Get it! You won’t regret it!
