It's absolutely wild what beginners have access to in today's market. While I am just a 30 something muli-instrument curious dabbler, this blows what my brother had to learn on out of the water. I have purchased quite of few cheap instruments, and while they have all functioned quite well, the often softer metal on some instruments that have a lot of fine parts (ie clarinette and saxophone buttons) usually negates the long term value. Trumpets don't really have parts that are as sensitive to bending or warping over time, so I'm more willing to recommend something like this, but there is still definitely a reason to spend more on an instrument that is made of better materials and have resale value. That being said, out the box, this thing is so good. It plays like a dream compared to yesteryear's beginner instruments. It looks good, plays good, and includes everything you need. For someone like me who is just curious about instruments, it's absolutely perfect. If you honestly only have $100 to spend on an instrument that your child will spend hours and hours on, it'll more than do for now. Before products like this, I would never claim that instruments like this are even worth looking at, but they are getting scary good for the insanely low price. ... show more

For the beginner this trumpet is a slam dunk. The trumpet actually sounds better than I expected. Now add to that the hard case and supporting material and your beginner trumpeter will know what it means to play a quality instrument. I definitely recommend this trumpet for the beginner.

Got this for my fil who used to have one. Going to give to him for his bday when it comes up. I had a music friend look at it and he was highly impressed after asking what the price was. I play trombone and wanted to learn how to play trumpet also. My Blessing trombone cost me over $2400 and I didn't want to spend anywhere near that. I didn't expect to find one this inexpensive but figured I would give it a try. I'm glad I did. This looks and sounds great. The valves are stainless steel and operate very smoothly. It comes in the standard B-flat format with the common 7C mouthpiece. It also includes a very nice protective padded case, and a cleaning cloth and gloves. The only thing you need is a small bottle of valve oil. It would have been nice if they included that but for the price I can't complain. This should be good for years of learning. ... show more
