  • Prince of Persia. Wow.
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
This game blew my mind. I grabbed it on sale and heard good things, but this was close to a masterpiece for the metroidvania genre. It took me around 30 hours to beat while doing some side content. The game has very challenging moments, but not including possible. You can always overcome things and if you need to go get upgrades then you have that option. So much exploration, curiosity, mystery. The gameplay is so buttery smooth and combat is extremely satisfying with combos that are not difficult to learn, but difficult to master. The story was really intriguing and I felt hooked all the way to the end. Do not sleep on this game. ... show more

  • Great game.

This has a great story and the game is very well put together. It is hard at times even on the easy setting. But nothing you cannot beat with a few tries or more. Got it for 15$ and I am glad I did. Probably one of the better games I have played in awhile.

  • I am an avid 2D side scroller fan
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
For my favorite genres is the 2D size growers. This game is amazing. I have played all the old 2D Castlevania games in Metroid games and found this game to be the most modern update of those games. It had all the elements of searching an extensively wide castle and interesting combat with different levels of difficulties depending on where you are in the castle. The graphics are amazing. I wish there were more games like this. ... show more

  • Good game
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
Older style game play, flashy artisty, good puzzles, and great controls. Story was okay. Didn't like the comic book like story telling and would have liked just auto play cutscenes or quick time events but really a small downsize to the overall fun game.

  • Fun game

Bought as a gift for my husband. I never played the earlier PoP games, but he said it's reminiscent of some of the originals. Fun to play with cool graphics and awesome flight sequences.

  • Ori Meets Hollow Knight Meets (Old) God of War
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
If you are a MetroidVania fan, you owe it to yourself to check this one out. Imagine Ori meets Hollow Knight meets old school God of War, and you have yourself the new Prince of Persia. Story is predictable but fun, and it brings back Sands of Time feels with the time warping elements. Combat is challenging but rewarding. Good news is there’s a lot of difficulty settings, including the “custom” option to choose which areas you want easier and which more challenging if you are looking for more of an exploration game. Speaking of which, the exploration is great, with rewards going to those exploring every corner of the map, which is exactly what this genre is all about. The prologue is not MetroidVania-style, btw, but don’t sweat it, get through it and it will take you there. ... show more

  • A bit too old school for me
Platform For Display: PlayStation 5
In a lot of ways, this game is a throwback to the platformers of many years ago. In some ways that is good, but in a lot of ways, this is also a bit of a disappointment. Graphically, the game is ok, but the flat 2d dimensional feel of the game really doesn’t do the game justice on the graphical power of the PS5. I would have preferred a 3D version or at least 3d-like version that gives the illusion of dimension. Nearly straight out of the gate, you have an early boss or semi-boss fight that is surprisingly difficult for a middle-aged gamer like me. The game moves at a quick pace, but I found myself getting bogged down with the difficult fights that seem nearly constant on normal difficulty. I ended up toning down the difficult level to keep myself from being frustrated. It is smooth and quick paced, but the 2D style tends to feel limiting to me in terms of combat. For those that enjoy this style of platforming, then most likely you will enjoy this game as well. Repeating various sections of the same levels also gets a bit old. For me, it is not as fun as I hoped and feels a bit too old school for me. It is not a terrible game by any means, just not exactly my favorite style of gaming and a bit difficult for me personally. 3 stars ... show more
