This really helps putting up a tree stand. I did encounter two issues that I think need to be addressed by the manufacturer. The strap that goes thru the pulley and around tree frays at the pulley slots. Second the drum needs larger sides. The strap wants to slip over the drum when you get the drum full. Otherwise I think this is possible the safes way to put up a tree stand especially for one person and even two people. If your old it’s a must have. ... show more

Worked perfectly. Set up two 20 foot ladder stands. Only reason for a 4 instead of a 5 is for the missing strap.

Was really pleased with the product. I had to move an ultra heavy 21 Ft Hawk Sasquatch double. Worse yet I was doing so on the side of a hill. I will say this a much safer way to put up a stand. We still needed a person on the side of the hill above the stand with a rope tied to the stand to keep it from heading away from the tree as we cranked it up. This was only needed do to the slope of the hill, and had it been on flat ground we would have been fine. My buddies were impressed with it. ... show more

I ordered this in December along with a Muddy Nexus treestand, but didn’t get a chance to use it till today. It is extremely simple to use and doesn’t take a rocket scientist to operate but the hardware is extremely cheap! I hooked it up exactly the same as the instructions guided and started hoisting it up. My $320 treestand platform raised about 4 foot off of the ground and came crashing down and the winch handle spun around and cracked the knuckles. I wasn’t sure what happened at first, but upon closer inspection I realized the bolt that holds the winch latch was broken. I can see someone could get hurt bad by this product and I plan on contacting Muddy. ... show more

    • Could use some improvement.
This could work better if this was not a strap but a winch rope. Hard to keep it in line when winding forward. A rope would not be a problem. Also it seems that the winch works in reverse, not like the clicking on a boat hoist ratchet. It did get the job done.

Highly impressed with this hoist. I used it to install a 1.5 man stand that's 26 foot tall (with extension piece) on a hill facing sideways and this hoist pulled it up and into position with no problem at all. Also a nice feature is that you can leave the hoist attached for extra security while you climb to attach the ratchet straps up top. Only slight issue was getting the stakes in the ground for the ladder stand to pivot on but that inconvenience was miniscule compared to the nut busting that would have had to take place to get that behemoth in the tree without this. 10 out of 10 highly recommended ... show more
