I adore this coffee maker. My chemex kept slipping out of my hands and smashing to the floor. I love the handle, the rubber bottom, the shape, how much it holds and if you put a tall chemex square filter into the reusable mesh filter that this comes with, you have THE PERFECT coffee system - easy to lift out and then through out used grounds cleanly. I unfortunately shattered my last pour over coffee maker, and the is is a fantastic replacement. Easy to use and clean, as well as for storage and use in the fridge for ice coffee. Would recommend buying coffee filters though as well, just helps make the coffee stronger and makes the coffee 100% better by letting the water mix with the coffee instead of flowing straight through ... show more

Needed to replace my Chemex. Decided on Primula because it has a handle and the mouth is wider for easier cleaning. It's only been used for a few days so I can't speak to it's longevity. However, the coffee tastes great (just like Chemex) . Concerns: the glass isn't as thick as the Chemex so I feel as if it would crack more easily if the edge were to bumped on its' side. Really could find nothing in the manufacturer's description, speaking to the heat resistance of the silicone cuff at the bottom which is it's anti slide feature. Suspect it's not similar to silicone bakeware. Like the Chemex, it's not possible to keep the coffee hot without some additional heat source. So, I am placing my carafe on my induction hot plate, after removing the silicone bottom (easily removed). Guess what. The cuff fits perfectly as a top to help keep the coffee hot. I needed to look up "borosilicate" glass to assume (I hope) that the glass will hold up to the low heat of the induction unit. So far, so good. ... show more

My only problem with this pour over coffee system is that the basket for the coffee grounds seems insufficient for the carafe. Even with the basket full of grounds I could only make one cup. But its a very nice set if you can figure out how to balance the grounds with the water to make the flavor you want. ... show more

I drink pour over most mornings and my old one had cork around the neck and no handle. The handle is so nice and you can also put it in the dishwasher.

Include FAUX in front of "wood handle" because it is clearly synthetic, this a false description. The included filter is undersized for the capacity of the carafe and allows significant sediment to pass through. The carafe is however sturdy, the silicone base is protective.
