The mattress is excellent quality and if you like a cloud softness then great. I found it a little to memory foam soft and had a difficult time getting out of bed because you sink in like laying on a marshmallow. I think it will take some time to get used to as I am used to a stiff mattress. My back hurt after the first night. I may switch it with the guest room firm mattress if I can’t get used to it. My kids love it as they jump around on it. It is not a light weight mattress and you will need another person to help put it on the bed or rotate it. Like I said, it is well made, arrives compacted in a big box, when opened it took only a short while to fully open. There was no smell or anything negative about the mattress. I have scoliosis so my back is generally in a constant state of uncomfortable. My old mattress was just that, old. I couldn’t spend a ton on a new one and knew it was risky buying one online without being able to try it. So I obsessed and read and researched and took a chance. It is so nice waking up and being able to roll over or stretch or lay there staring at the ceiling questioning my life choices without my back being stiff as a board. My only “complaint” is this is not a mattress meant for sitting on the edge of. So if you regularly find yourself there, reconsider this mattress or get a chair; you’re gonna slide right off the edge of this bad boy. ... show more

This is fresh out of the box but it rose to the full 12 inches for me in about 2 days. Came air tight sealed and came early ! I bought this as an early Christmas gift for myself and it's the best sleep related decision I've made. It's soft but not too soft and firm but not too firm. You can place an open drink on the bed and it will not move when you move. Only thing is it does hold heat- get good cooling sheets for this one. I have been sleeping on a waterbed mattress for 30+ years due to lower back and neck muscle strain, but my mattress recently developed a leak and had to be replaced. This mattress perfectly fits in a Cali King waterbed frame, but don't think your going to be able to put a fitted sheet on easily in a waterbed frame as it is definitely a very tight fit once expanded. I see a lot of comments about it not being a firm mattress but for me going from baffled water to foam/gel it is very firm indeed, however I do feel that it conforms once you settle into it and I sleep well with no pain on waking :) The other comments I noticed seem to believe a Cali King is bigger than a regular King mattress and others find the Cali to be more of a Queen -- so if this is your question consider the Cali is where plastic surgery reins supreme and they cut 4" off the side and slapped it on the bottom - a regular King is 76W X 80L and a Cali King is 72W X 84L. If your looking for a wider bed go reg King, if your tall and need more length than width then go for the Cali King ...fyi there is no Texas King where everything is bigger lol ... show more

We had to replace our old memory foam mattress and I was researching different options. Hubby and me both have lower back problems, laying on my back wasn't an option on the old mattress anymore. I have a lower back and an extensive neck fusion, chronic pain and hip issues,, comfort is definitely a top priority for me. Hubby weighs about 205 lbs and I am about 180 lbs. I ordered the mattress and decided on a California King instead of our usual Queen . Delivery was fast, I also got a frame and all the sheets and comforter for it. We set it up and by nighttime it was at full height, we waited the full 48 hours as recommended by the manufacturer and then had the absolutely best night in a very long time. I have to admit I was so excited, it took me a while to fall asleep. I tried every position I could and NO pain. The bed is huge and comfortable, I am 5'8" and hubby is 6'1". Hubby stopped tossing and turning at night and I usually wake up in the same position I fell asleep in. The matress is just the right firmness for us with great support, hubby is a very warm sleeper and I have hot flashes, no problems there. We will see how it goes in the heat of summer and maybe add a cooling topper if it's to warm. Yes, we live our new mattress!!!! ... show more

Love this bed! It is super comfy. Now if you HAVE to have the full 12 inches..ehhh. I've had 10 inch beds before and this one was on sale for the same price so thought I'd try 12. I measured after a week to see if it ever rose to the full 12 inches and it was just 10.5. I've had it for a few months now so maybe it's grown? Doubt it. I bought this bed in a pinch because we were sleeping on the floor after moving across country. It shipped fast and was easy to set up. I’ve been using it for about 4 months now and I have not had any issues. This mattress is comfy & cozy. I have had other memory foam mattresses from well-known companies that were way too hard and stayed that way, even though they were described as "medium." Other reviews complained about the smell, which was strong at first but within a few days had totally dissipated. It helps to open the windows. We have been unable to get a queen mattress in this upstairs bedroom due to a narrow stairwell and doorway, but since the mattress comes rolled up and shrink wrapped, it was no problem at all to get it up there.
