Holy SMOKES! I LOVE THIS shirt! Definitely read the size guide, it is accurate. I ordered a large and it actually fits me in both my shoulder and arms with a comfortable relaxed look...I am ordering two new shirts (an extra white to have in stock and now a black one) and I had debated about going down to a medium, but two I have very long arms and athletic shoulders and this shirt fits perfectly in that way -- yet I have some wiggle room off the shoulder, through the body of the short and the shirttail is a little long for me (goes to/over the crotch when tucked in) but for others who might be more curvy, it likely won't be noticeable. I'm 5'10" ((36AA-28-38)) The quality is great ....soft material, strong stitching and the structure of the bliuse truly holds up with the collar giving that true Elizabethian look! I'm pairing this with my Tahari Military Jacket and faux-leather pants with knee-high leather boots. Everyone goes nuts when they see it, it's outright striking. The frilly cuffs hang down over my hands, out of the jacket sleeves. The high collar feels cozy, stands up easily, and since it's polyester, any make-up comes out easily in the wash. Workmanship on this shirt is super-high quality. It's like a throwback to when clothes were made "right," even when less expensive. Sizing, I usually buy large for long arms and broad shoulders. Since I'm wearing it under a jacket anyway, I got the XXL, which is largish in the "gut," but way-comfy under a jacket. Long enough to tuck in pants but not gigantic. This is a great blouse - I have two now! For me, one size up was enough. I initially ordered the size L (based on size reviews - I usually wear a small or xs womens, size 4, with measurements 34.5"/32-34 D Bust- 25 waist -36 hip) and L was big all over - but so fluid and soft that I kept it! The sleeves LONG and stick out from jacket sleeves nicely! It tucks in well- see pics- the fabric is very soft and NOT BULKY when tucked in or worn under jackets, and it hangs beautifully. I loved it so much I ORDERED ANOTHER, in size M. M is still a bit roomy around a 25" waist and good (not tight) on 34.5 bust. Sleeves still long. I Think max measurements for M is 35.5, 28 w 37 hip, IF no gapping is your aim! Major plus - so fluid and soft that it disappears when you tuck it in, not leaving you lumpy. This blouse is stunning, wrinkles wash out nicely! Hang to dry. You'll love it. ... show more

I don't know about the size issues. I ordered one size too big the first time and it was two sizes too big. Nothing to be mad about, reordered a medium. It's much better but the collar was still loose. Finally ordered a small in white. It fits perfect. The edges are well finished, the material is a good quality, very wrinkle resistant, and over all I love it. It works well for lolita fashion. I think amazon moved the size chart down to smaller after the company started making them larger. S fits me with a 35 inch bust and here are pictures of the large on my dress form turned to a 39.5 inch bust and 32 inch waist. ... show more

I am a size 14. I ordered the 2XL. I can button it after opening up the sleeve seams. However, with it buttoned my chest is smooched flat. My arms are 23 inches around. I am a weightlifter & jiu-jitsu fighter, so my upper arms are larger than most. I always have to add extra material to the upper arms on anything I buy from over seas. I love the design and if I can add more material to the sides as well as the upper arms it will fit great. I love that the buttons are spaced close together and there is definitely no gaping. I had purchased this to be part of a costume for a Victorian era play, but I won't have it altered in time, that is the chance we always take ordering China-sized clothing. ... show more

The shirt is beautiful but runs so small. I am a 1X plus size woman who can fit in stretchy XL size clothing usually. I ordered the largest size, just to be safe (XXL) and it was still to small. The arms were very tight as was the entire torso. The wrists fit beautifully as did the neck, and the buttons are grouped so close that gaping isn't an issue at all (even with it being so tight). I'm in the process or weight loss so we'll see if this is still to big in a month or so...but it's likely that I'm going to have to return this. Great shirt! It's so pretty. I ordered it bigger fearing that it runs small as others stated, not true. I could have ordered my true size and it would have been a perfect fit. Instead I would have had a perfectly fitted shirt. Other than this, I love my shirt. It also came swiftly!
