When I purchased these headphones two months ago, they were only $30, which is a great deal for their quality. They sound great for budget headphones. They have excellent bass response, and though the highs and mids are a little lacking, for thirty dollars I don't care so much. They are very lightweight and have an auto fit headband which is really nice. The earpads are comfortable. The materials feel strong and durable. I use these when I am recording someone other than myself and I need to hear their performance as it is being recorded. These are semi-open headphones, which means that they don't isolate and they leak noise, so I don't recommend these for tracking with a microphone. Closed-back headphones would be better suited for that purpose. I don't mix with these so I cannot provide information about that. The only issue I have had so far is that I have not figured out how the cable detaches. I don't know if it really does detach. Overall, they are great headphones for the price. ... show more

These work really well for mixing and mastering. Like any listening/monitoring environment, you'll have to spend some time listening to music to understand them. I don't care how much you spend on headphones or wall treatment; you still will need to learn your monitoring environment. With that said. Bing, Bang, Boom!

I love these things. Forgive the technical jargon, but they're all like "Boom, Boom!", "Bing, Bang!". While my listening experience stretches back three decades, I'd really still consider myself to be an amateur listener (Worse, if you ask her). These don't get stuck in my ears, and all ear wax-y, though... Which is cool. If I'm being completely honest, I don't like the blue plastic crap. I still give 5 stars for "Bing, Bang, Boom!", though. I was sad that there's no serial number on these. Maybe serial numbers on headphones isn't a thing... But it should be... and PreSonus should make it happen with these... Specifically mine. These are both bulkier, and lighter than I expected, which makes them feel cheap. That part's alright, though, because they were cheap. They're pretty flexible. I prefer not to twist my headphones into small round, compact shapes for the purpose of shoving into small spaces; But it's nice to know that I have that option. The cord is long. Excellent Sound quality/clarity with a very flat response. A little flimsy feeling though...

I got these on sale for thirty bucks. For that price you can't go wrong, I don't care who you are or what material you listen to. Upon opening the box you will notice they are well packaged and as soon as soon as I pulled them out of the box, light weight and flimsy are the first two things that came to mind. I have somewhat big ears and they completely enclose and seal my ears with room to spare, however they are in no way too big. They feel very comfortable, partly do to the light weight. After a very long three hour session they did begin to feel slightly uncomfortable due to the clamping force. They can be flexed by hand in a way to make them squeeze a little less and that did help. As for the sound quality, fantastic! I use these for mixing when I want to hear my mix on something else to compare to my monitors or if I'm doing some late night mixing and need to keep the noise down. They have a very flat response and can take everything I throw at them. I produce/mix mostly electronic music, Dubstep, DnB, etc... and if I low-shelf these ~+2.5db @ 150Hz then I get an extremely accurate representation of what I'm going to hear in my car for example. At the normal selling price of around sixty bucks I might just go ahead and spend another forty to get Sennheiser HD380 instead. What I don't like about these is that the cable is not replaceable (-1 Star). For the price I paid, it's really a non-issue, but as I mentioned if they would have been their regular selling price, I probably would have spent a little more for the HD380's which are sealed (these are semi open) and also have a replaceable cable. One last thing to mention regarding the semi-open design is that I expected to hear quite a bit more ambient noise and it wasn't the case. Besides, once the music is going ambient is not even an issue. Hope this helps someone else considering these. Update: They really don't block out as much ambient noise as I had originally stated. After using these in more situations, I have to retract that from my original review. ... show more

Great Headphones

I purchased for the purpose of practicing my guitar so I would not disturb the rest of the family. These work great for that. I as well use them for my computer work If you are in need of headphones I strongly recommend these. They are worth every penny.

Decent While It Lasted But..

These headphones were decent WHILE THEY LASTED. I used them for recording and mixing. They aren't heavy, comfortable to wear for hours at a time, and the sound quality is pretty good. Not the best in terms of noise cancellation, but it was good enough for $60. As the title implies, these headphones only lasted about 6 months. They started to sound very distorted and it took me a while to realize the headphones were the issue since I don't have access to much devices with traditional headphone jacks anymore :). When I examined the headphones, I noticed some of the wiring was a bit loose at the ear, which most likely was a result of me wrapping the wire around the headphones when storing.
