  • Great accurate sound
Style: HD9 - Closed Back
I got these headphones mainly for multi-track mixing. I've been using a set of Audio Technical ATH-M50x for a couple of years, and while these PreSonus cans are half the price, they sound better. The bass is tight and loud, but not in an "enhanced" or exaggerated way like most consumer headphones. The highs are clear with no harshness, and the midrange sounds very natural. The mixes I've done with these translate well to my studio monitors as well as my car stere, home theater, and even earbuds. Overall I am quite impressed with these. ... show more

  • My SPD son's favorite headphones!!!
Style: HD7 - Semi-Open Back
My 15 year old has sensory issues and needs headphones for his school work. These are the only headphones that have worked for him. We bought a pair used (because we had bought so many different kinds of headphones trying to find a pair that he liked). The used pair lasted about a year before something went wrong and they stopped working. So I searched for more and found them!! He was so happy to get another pair of the headphones he loved! These are great headphones!!! Not only for their sound quality (which is great!) but for how sensory friendly they are! ... show more

  • Not On-Ear headphones
Style: HD7 - Semi-Open Back
The HD7 headphones were advertised as being the On-Ear style of headphones. Turns out they are very much the Around-the-Ear, isolation-style headphones. They almost completely sealed me off from the outside world. I was specifically seeking On-Ear phones, so I may be sending these back. The sound quality, although a little base-heavy, is good, overall, but higher frequencies aren't getting through to me. After an hour of U-tube videos, I was getting a ear-and-head ache. Not bad, but noticeable. The ear cups are a soft plastic, and after about 30 minutes, I noticed some perspiration building up. So for good-but-slightly-expensive sound qualities and fit, I'd give them 3-4 stars. But for not being On-Ear, definitely, they lose a point! ... show more

  • Wow!!
Style: HD9 - Closed Back
These exceeded even my high expectations for use with both desktop and laptop computers. The sound quality is magnificent and they seem to be built to a high level of durability, which the manufacturer claims as their goal. Their comfort level over a long time period is so good, that I almost forgot I had them on. For the price, these cannot be beat!!! ... show more

  • 2nd failed headset and NO customer service
Style: HD7 - Semi-Open Back
This is the second presonus headset that has failed after moderate use. This one lasted less than 90 days before the right ear failed to produce sound. The same thing happened on a pair that came with recording bundle I purchased previously, which is why I had to purchase these. I know these are not the most expensive headsets but I am willing to sacrifice a little sound quality for price but not complete uselessness after a couple months. Presonus customer support is a nightmare. After contacting them for support all I got was a work order form that included a $39 flat fee to look at the headset (on top of whatever I would have to pay to shop them). Not a fan of this company. If I were you reading this I would be looking for another product. ... show more

  • Ok, but not as good as expected
Style: HD7 - Semi-Open Back
Quality: After 6 months of use the left side started to crackle. This is very annoying. I never asked for a replacement. I might should have... Sound quality: Clear and full sound! Great for the price! However, they do not isolate at all. If there is noise around, you will hear it very good. In my case, that is not a problem. Comfort: They are not the most comfortable to wear very long, however, for 2hrs its good enough. Personally, I don't need super confy headphones for 2hrs a day. Verdict: If that crackle on the left side wouldn't have started, I would have given 5 out of 5. Not because they are the best headphones, but because they are very good for the price. ... show more

  • Quality sound for very little money
Style: HD7 - Semi-Open Back
Are these really 4 star headphones? For less than $30, which was what I paid, they are actually a bit better. If the cable had been removable, they would have gotten the extra star. That said, it is solidly constructed heavy and sturdy. I don't expect it to short out at all and I use these as one of my main pairs--the others are the Sennheiser 439s (light, comfortable, but dull) Superlux 668B, and ATH M40x and ATH-IM70 IEMs. These are closest the the 668B in sound. A bit bright--but no annoying sibilance. With Cosmos velour pads--the ones on board suck- for an extra eight dollars here at Amazon (or, if you want to spend the dough, Beyerdynamic replacement pads) -http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KLPRQMO/ref=gno_cart_title_0?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3528NABKVABNY - they can't be beaten and sound better than almost any--up to $150-- headphone I've tried. This is not a bass head phone, it is for studio and critical listening. I use them with Macbook Pro and iPad with Fiio Q1DAC and an HP laptop with idsd nano black and my home stereo. They can take a serious volume load from a stereo amp or soundboard without distortion, but can be driven by smaller amplification sources easily thanks to low impedance. As for clamping, they're snug but not so tight they are uncomfortable--at all--even after a couple of hours of listening. This is one of the best deals I've ever gotten from Amazon. ... show more

  • First time defective product received from Amazon Warehouse.
Style: HD7 - Semi-Open Back
I bought this from Amazon Warehouse and didn't use this on a recording project since I received it. The box looked immaculate so I assumed this was in perfect working order based on the site description. I just plugged them in today and there is no bass and the audio sounds crackly like the cord is broken. I plugged in my old headphones and the audio is fine. I switched plug adapter to check if that was the problem but the audio was the same. This was shipped as a bad pair of headphones and now I can't return because the return window is closed. Ugh. My first time receiving a defective product from Amazon Warehouse. I'm so bummed and out $40 bucks. Lesson learned: Don't assume and inspect your warehouse purchases in a timely manner. ... show more
