Description

Eris E66 active MTM (d’appolito) monitors deliver smooth on- and off-axis response with more dynamic output than conventional two-way studio monitor configurations, thanks to their MTM (midwoofer-tweeter-midwoofer) design, which features a 1.25-Inch silk dome high-frequency driver nested between two 6.5-Inch woven composite low-frequency drivers. The nested MTM configuration facilitates both vertical and horizontal loudspeaker placement while providing improved Spatial resolution with a much wider sweet spot than conventional designs. The weave and nature of the dual woven composite woofers help break up reflected energy, so fewer delayed reflections reach the listener ear, resulting in a less colored, more cohesive sound. These dual woofers operate in parallel within the same frequency range, acting to minimize phase displacement to provide optimal stereo imaging.

I love these E7XT speaker monitors. I originally bought the E5XTs and one speaker was giving off a hiss and static when nothing was playing. So I returned them and got these for an unbeatable price and my goodness I’m glad I did. I don’t like to return things unless they are broken. Especially audio equipment that I need to sound good. These speakers give my guitar a greater sound with deeper lows and much wider sound stage than the E5s. Definitely recommend. The EQ settings on these bad boys are very good and help with getting your desired sound. I’d recommend turning down the gain as 12 o clock is too hot if you’re using a lot of distortion for guitars. Just my opinion. The size is actually perfect for me. Plus they’re cheaper than buying from other retailers, thanks Amazon!     • Nice bass and wide "sweet spot"
Size: 7" Near Field Studio Monitor Pattern: Monitor
I bought these and Kali's LP-6 monitors at the same time to try them both out and ended up keeping these. The E7 XTs were easier to use in my untreated office/studio (standard bedroom) due to a wider listening zone thanks to the waveguides (although the LP-6 also adjusted pretty well to the room too, but hadf a much narrower sweet spot). There's more control over EQ adjustments with the E7 XT than many monitors in this price range, which is great for tailoring acoustics to your space. The main reason I went with these is that the bass is much better on the E7 XTs, as it extends a little lower and is more assertive than the LP-6 (but still quite realistic). Overall, the imaging is solid: you can definitely tell where things are located in the mix and they reveal fine details well. I do have to mention that imaging is a little sharper/more clear on the LP-6, but theres less EQ control and the bass is noticeably weaker on the same tracks. If you're in it only for the imaging (not overall sound reproduction) and you have a separate subwoofer, the LP-6 might be for you. Since I'm not using a subwoofer (yet), I went with these, so I can mix low end more easily. I do plan on getting one of the PreSonus subwoofers in the next few months. I get the feeling after playing with these speakers that they would work really well with a sub, because they sound amazing when you engage the low bypass to 80hz. TLDR: +Great, assertive, and realistic bass for a 6.5 inch speaker +Good imaging and details +Easy to tailor to your space -A little bulky (check your measurements) ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Initial listen to these studio monitor is very good. This needs a subwoofer to complete the frequency response. Imaging comes from the center with depth upto my LCD monitor. Soundstage is good but my positioning is too narrow. I will separate them further apart to get the setup in its place as it is temporary as of now. Running from a PC via USB DAC then XLR. I will test the RCA inputs of these speakers if results will be similar. Overall, a good deal for the price to performance ratio. Shipping experience is also great since I got a defective unit and issued a report and request to return. The replacement was sent out immediately and my return was completed as well. ... show more

    • Presonus Eris 5 vs. JBL LSR305 Monitors
Size: E5 Pattern: Monitor
The media could not be loaded. PreSonus Eris E5 is an excellent, small, beautiful monitor. It is a bit warm with excellent bass response, and very nice build quality. With three inputs (XLR, 1/4" and RCA) and both a high and mid boost dial, it provides a lot of options. The front-side port is great for the (common) desktop or against the wall placement so many people use. The biggest con I have with this is that I got distortion at volume levels that I felt I shouldn't be getting it at considering the 102 DB SPL and 80 watts of power. With that said, it's a solid speaker that you can feel good about owning. I've attached a video of me comparing it against the JBL SLR305, which is in a similar price category and gets similarly great reviews. The differences are highlighted in the video, including: Eris Pros relative to JBL LSR305: Much smaller for the same speaker size and power output (and weight) Front bass port, making them better for near-the-wall placement many people will prefer Produced a richer, bassier sound than the JBLs, despite their higher HZ rating and smaller size... impressive Aesthetically more pleasing... modern, expensive looking, clean deisgn, esp the kevlar cone and lit logo Requires quite a bit less input volume to attain the same output volume (contrary to the SPL rating... so I find JBL's numbers suspicious) RCA Input for additional input options w/o modification - helpful for people outputting from their computer or other component without 1/4" or XLR outputs More fine-tuning adjustments for mid and high as well as room on the back of the speaker. Eris Cons compared to JBL: Breaks up more at the same volume (this was on bassy dubstep with lows and highs... they started to get muddy and a bit broken up) Has a less efficient A/B class amplifier, gets warmer Not as good at capturing highs, not as flat (good for home use though, but I question the accuracy in mixing) A bit more expensive Narrower "sweet spot" making less ideal for "whole room" uses ... show more
