Description

The PRESIDENT BILL III is the very first PRESIDENT CB radio with P-channels. P-channels are preconfigured memory channels set by PRESIDENT. There are 5 channels - P1, P2, P3, P4, and P5. They use the FM mode, the frequency of an existing CB channel, and a fixed CTCSS/ DCS code allowing targeted communication with other users. This 12-volt AM/FM unit also offers a unique TOT (Time Out Timer) feature, weather channel with alert, scan and scan skip, noise reduction circuit for RX and TX, an LED display, and much more.

The President Bill III rocks with the President New Virginia. Just did Houston to Sturgis and Sturgis to Houston trip. I was picking up over size loaders and driver 3-4 miles out clear and easy in open country. In the city 1-3 miles was easy. The over size loaders drivers and followers like that I would let them know I was about to pass them with my trailer. The truckers where nice too even though I was a 4 wheel, I would let them know I was slowing for them to pass me or I was going to pass them. It never got hot like I read other reviews maybe that was a problem with the Bill II. This unit is very small which I like for my Chevy Coloardo. It blows the Corba 19 mini out of the water in everything. It feels like a premiun build unit solid. The Corba did too but it lacks all around in power. The Bill III is easy to use and love the weather channel. One quick push of a button and your getting weather updates. That helped alot while camping. It comes with two mounts and I am using the one were you can remove it quickly. CB is not dead and very helpful when traveling. I will be buying a larger President once I get a full size truck. The price of it is well worth it and your getting a of fuction out of tinny unit. ... show more

Almost perfect. Honestly I don't know why they cut the corner and didn't include a 12v male cigarette lighter adapter. Cobra get this right, it just seems lazy. You don't need to be an electrician to solve this problem, its just a hassle. I'd rather pay a bit more and just have everything I need out of the box. It's just another purchase and more shipping time from Amazon that you have to deal with if you don't get both at the same time. That aside, this is easily the best CB radio for the casual user on the market in terms of features. The USB port on the front really helps since you are going to be using the 12V to power the radio, so the USB can be used to charge your phone or other devices. Being able to dial in exactly how much squelch you want with the dial is also much nicer than having to fiddle with a lot of menus. Bottom line, if you don't mind ordering a 12v cigarette lighter and crimping the cables get this. If you just want a brain off no effort whatsoever out of the box but with less features get the Cobra 19 mini. ... show more
