The box is very heavy and long so it may be difficult for one person to carry. Buyers should be aware that the instructions say that 2 people should put this together and mount it. I didn’t realize that when planning to assemble it alone. I had to figure out a way to mount the assembled shelf to the wall bracket. I did so by putting it on risers that I use for working out and then pushing it up to the wall. Otherwise it was very easy to assemble. This console is just what we were looking for. It is pictured with our 60” vizio tv. I ordered the grey color. It arrived in pieces but the easy to follow instructions made assembly fairly simple. It looked daunting with all little bits of hardware, but it was basically, “stick these screw things in these (predrilled) holes, now stick these nut things in these other holes, then line it all up and stick it together and twist the nut things to tighten them around the screw things.” I did that alone and I’m not handy. Lifting it to mount to the wall requires two people. The most difficult task was finding studs to mount it to the wall, but that is no fault of the product. It is particle board, but surprisingly heavy and sturdy. I will probably mount the TV above the console instead of leaving it sitting on top, but that’s mostly because I’m not entirely sure I got into the studs, and so I don’t want to test the load capacity at all. But even so, it’s currently holding up Captain Picard, as pictured. I’ll update if it falls off the wall (but even that wouldn’t really be the fault of the product, but my inability to find a stud). ... show more

This is my 2nd one. I have one in my bedroom and family room. Having this mounted on my wall frees up space and gives the room the appearance of being bigger. I love it

    • Paint the wall bracket if you have a light colored wall, and check for wall straightness before hanging!
The wall bracket is black, which is clearly visible when seated at couch height and facing the unit. If you have the slightest feeling that will bother you - paint the bracket before hanging the unit. I realized that after it was mounted and rather than take it down again, I cut tight fitting pieces of cardboard that fit in each of the three openings on top - and painted them white. When pushed into place behind the electrical components, the cardboard pieces hide the bracket and all the wires too. Also the wall I hung mine on was bowed out 1/2" which affected the fit. Put a straight edge on the wall where you plan to mount it so that you can adjust the mounts a little before you hang it if needed. Secure the center, and leave the end mounts a little loose, and final tighten after it is hanging on the wall. I installed at the recommended height and have a 55" LG sitting on a stand on top, and I am satisfied with it. One last adjustment I made was to enlarge the opening that provides access to plug things into the wall outlet that will be hidden behind the bottom shelf. The stock opening was too small for me to reach into to plug into the surge protector that was then plugged into the wall outlet. ... show more

This was easy to assemble, but a little bit of a challenge to get up on the wall. It does take two, relatively strong, people to be able to hang it up. I have gotten many compliments and love the aesthetic. I wanted something to store my game consoles without my cats being able to jump up on it and knock the tv down. My only complaint is that behind the shelves there is nothing covering the wall and you can see the big metal bar that hangs it on the wall. I bought some fancy paper and poster paper, cut it to fit the empty backs and pushed it to the back of the shelves to cover the wall. The assembly, mounting, and cord management were all simple and fast processes. The black mounting bracket CAN be seen when watching the TV, but it is not as noticeable. The cable management area has a slim cut out to fit regular surge protectors, so the heavy duty versions may not fit with cables plugged in. ... show more

    • Great way to free up space while maintaining storage in small living room

I LOVE this console. We purchased it shortly before Thanksgiving and I ended up in a race against the clock to get it installed prior to my family coming over for the holiday. It was my first time hosting and I wanted this console up! I got the entire thing assembled by myself in one night, but it was not easy at first. It took some time to figure out the assembly but once I got the hang of it, it was pretty simple to put together. If you're not confident putting furniture together it might be good to have help, or give yourself more time than I did. I've had a lot of experience putting stuff together with my dad so the only help I needed from my husband in the end was lifting it onto the wall Thanksgiving morning. It now comfortably houses a litany of video games and DVDs, three video game consoles and a DVD player, and still has room left over on the top shelf. It also freed up a ton of space in the living room that our big clunky "TV table" had taken up. It makes the living room feel bigger and more organized. Highly recommend. ... show more

    • Great Look, Easy Assembly
Assembly was a breeze and we immediately received positive feedback from guests. The hidden cable management area behind the bottom section is a nice addition, especially since I combined this with an in-the-wall cable hiding system. I was able to assemble and mount the product by myself, though I would strongly recommend the assistance of at least one other person when mounting. My wife has also previously purchased a floating desk from Prepac, so I was familiar with their products. I do have two small complaints about this product, but they were by no means a deal breaker. We purchased the white unit, and the bar that you hang the entire unit on is solid black. This is just under the top surface when completely assembled, so it doesn't stand out too much, but it is definitely visible when viewing from a seated position. There are also (4) large screws that go in to the side of the unit towards the top rear. In the pictures, they are shown as white, but the ones we received were silver. I did not find any caps for them included with the hardware. These stand out against the semi-glossy white sides, but I plan to paint over them eventually. ... show more
