I'd like to start by saying that I wouldn't recommend this toy for small dogs weighing less than 12-15 pounds. It's more likely designed for medium and large dogs. The toy itself is thoughtfully crafted, with ropes protruding from both sides that your four-legged friend can grab onto from either end. This encourages the natural gripping instincts in dogs. The toy can be used both at home for tugging and trying to pull it out of your dog's mouth, as well as at the dog park, where you can throw it, and your dog will bring it back. Since our eight-month-old Morkie puppy hasn't fully grown yet, we mainly play tug-of-war with him at home. At the dog park, his bigger friends enjoy fetching the toy while our puppy is still trying to figure out what to do with the thrown toy. As our puppy lives with my aunt, there's a funny story related to this. A week after we bought the toy, my aunt, in a mysterious voice, told us she had something important to share. She said, in a conspiratorial tone, that she thought the toy glowed at night and wasn't sure if it was real or just her imagination. Since my aunt is 85 years old, this story brings gentle smiles and jokes in our family. The fact is that the toy's body is made of plastic that absorbs solar energy during the day and glows with a warm greenish light in the dark. This means the toy can be used even at night, making playtime more exciting and interesting for the puppy. However, since we don't walk him after dark and prefer not to engage him in active games before bedtime to avoid overexciting him, we rarely use this feature. But we keep it in reserve for the winter months when twilight falls much earlier. Then, we can play "try to take it away" in the dark. The very reasonable price makes this toy a great purchase and provides our family with many hours of enjoyment playing with our puppy.

This dog toy is awesome! It is the first one ever that our dog didn’t destroy within seconds and that she hasn’t gotten bored with (yet). It is made of quality materials and is strong and sturdy, yet designed with a dog like ours in mind. The rope runs through the plastic part, which allows for throwing and fetching or playing tug-of-war. Our 60-pound dog especially likes to chew on the plastic “bone” part that seems to have the right consistency for her. When the plastic of other toys is too soft, she chews it in pieces and when it is too hard, it hurts her delicate, elderly gums and she looses interest quickly. This really is the perfect toy for her - and us - and therefore I can’t recommend it highly enough!

My 1 year old Springer spaniel really took a lkking to this. She has a tendency to destroy and this has held up reasonably well. She does tear off bits of the outer rubber leaving it looking a bit ragged at this point. Overall solid toy.

I’m a dog sitter and love to have a variety of dog toys for my guests. This one really exceeded expectations! The rope part is your normal cotton variety material that is standard for these types of toys - strong and durable. The plastic covering is pliable yet chew resistant. I recently had a pit bull mix fall in love with this toy. He carried it around, chewed on it, played tug of war with me. He had a blast and this toy is still intact. The toy is well constructed. The glow-in-the-dark aspect of the “bone” part is awesome for evening play. It’s honestly one of the best dog toys I’ve purchased for my canine guests. Highly recommend!

My dog loves this toy. It has become her favorite toy. She can play tug-o-war with this toy. The glow-in-the-dark feature is really strong. After being outside in the sunlight, this bone had absorbed enough light that it was even shining inside the house in the middle of the day. The material of this bone is tough and holds up even to the strongest of teeth and jaws. I think that there is an added pleasure for the dogs in that they try to get the rope out from the inside of the bone. So far the rope has held up to her pulling and is still in the bone. I have bought many toys for my dog, but many of them are not made to endure the aggressive chewing. This bone holds up well and is fun to play with.

I have to admit that the main reason I ordered this toy was more because glow in the dark items have always fascinated me than because I thought my dog would enjoy it. I have been pleasantly surprised at how much she loves playing with it, which makes me feel better about ordering it. I can now say that I ordered it for her - haha. My dog is an average sized basset hound and this toy is a good size for her. It is large enough for her to hold and chew on and for the two of us to play tug of war, but not too heavy for her to pick up. It seems to be made very sturdily, too. She has had it for a couple of weeks now and it is still in great shape. It does glow well, too. I am happy with it and so is she. I would recommend it for any appropriately sized dog.
