This kit was perfect for starting my vegetable garden. I love that these trays are made from recycled paper and will compost right into the earth, and are not made from peat moss. I will never support peat companies as they are hurting our planet by removing peat in mass quantities for profit, abolishing delicate and fragile ecosystems all over the world. Plastic trays are even worse and seep toxins into our soil and our food, I could swear I could taste it the last time I used plastic.. I am so happy that more companies are creating eco-friendly and recycled alternatives like these. This was my first time using biodegradable trays and I will never go back. I love all the little tools, wood plant markers, and the folding shovel is also very nice. The bamboo spray bottle is really cute too. They really did think of everything. It would make an amazing gift for anyone wanting to start gardening. I will be buying it again.

This was pretty cheap. Maybe a neat gift, but only for a kid. The tools were broken straight out of the box, the seeds don't seem to be that good, and the mister is cheap plastic junk.

Cartons are okay, all the tools broke within first use of my small potted garden of seedlings. The shovel was broken in the initial box when opened.

This is a great set for beginners to start germinating plants indoors. It contains just about everything you need to get started (except the soil and seeds). The directions are simple and easy to follow. We tried it out and were able to successfully grow seedlings for transplant outside. The set comes in a nice box and would definitely make a great gift.

I've been gardening for decades and I love this set. I would give this as a gift to any gardening friend and know that it would be very appreciated. I ordered this for my own use because I really like using the biodegradable seedling pots. In this set, you receive 10 trays of 10 pots each. The plant markers are a great step above the normal plastic markers. They are sooooooo much classier. I also like the small bamboo spray bottle, it feels really nice in my hand. I'm using it to mist my coleus seeds daily. Coleus seeds have to be on top of the soil and need light to germinate so this bottle really comes in handy to keep them moist without drowning them. The folding shovel is a keeper for sure. At least, that's what hubby decided. He swiped it the minute he saw it for his emergency 'go bag'. Lol I haven't used the small tools yet but they are quite cute as well. This set would make such a thoughtful house warming gift, Mother's Day gift, birthday gift, hostess gift, or thank you gift for all of your gardening friends. Add a few packs of seeds and a small bag of soil and it'll be a gift they'll enjoy all season. 5+stars on this one. I hope this helps you.

These are okay peat pots, however the price is astronomical. The value added extra tools make this a cute gift set, but for function it's lacking. The price is currently $20 for 100 cells, however comparable products offer the same type of cells with more than 400 cells for the same price. I wouldn't get this kit again unless giving as a gift. It's really boxed up for looks and not so much function or price point. My experience in use with these is that marker works off of the cute bamboo markers, so it's best to paint on them. The little wooden handle tools have all fallen apart, but the shovel is ultra sturdy. It folds out and is a cute tool to have around. The spray bottle is useless at the size it is. It's novelty size and looks cute, but not very functional. The cells have holes in them for good drainage, and they're nice for plug trays. I am careful that I water enough to soak the dirt and get the cell wet to an extent, but that there will be enough sun and wind to dry them back out. These mold easily and I don't want to have that problem with my plants. Although they degrade, I don't think they degrade fast enough to put directly in the soil. I am tossing my cells into my compost and taking the plugs out to up pot or put into the ground. The kit is cute as a gift, but the price is a turn off for the number of cells for $20. OK first off the little tools are great. My kids love them and its defiantly encouraging them to get in the dirt and play. Though they like doing that anyways, having a little set is really fun for them. The mister is fantastic. It really atomizes the water so your delicate sprouts will not be hit with large drops. Overall its a fantastic kit. A little pricy but I think that's mostly the little tools. Ah almost forgot the little foldable shovel too. My 7 year old boy loves it. He takes it around with him as his own personal shovel. If you have kids this is a great set for sure.
