This is a box of 8 teabag-style individual medium roast coffee pouches from Coffee Central. Not gonna lie, I did not have high hopes for these coffee pouches that are brewed similar to teabags, but I am a believer now. I opened the box to find 8 individual packets, each containing what looks like a giant teabag, including a string and tag. I opened one and it had a pleasant coffee aroma. I followed the instructions on the box, using one bag in 6 oz of boiling water and letting it steep. The result was a very good, strong cup of coffee, with smooth, balanced flavor with bright, bitter, and caramel notes. I was able to add an ounce or two more water (and probably could've even added more than I did), plus my usual half & half, and it compared favorably to other good medium roast coffees. If you're traveling and staying in a hotel, take some of this with you. It is SO much better than those little 4-cup coffee makers with the coffee the hotel gives you, and infinitely better than even the best instant coffee. All you need is hot water, and you can have a really enjoyable cup of coffee anywhere, for only $1.25 per cup (at the time I'm writing this). I'm giving this 4 stars for the coffee itself, which is very good, and adding the 5th star for the cleverness and convenience factor. ... show more

The box includes 8 individually sealed coffee bags that are similar in look to tea bags. As soon as you open a bag, the smell is amazing. you prepare each cup of coffee similar to how you prepare a cup of tea. Dunk the coffee bag in 6 ounces of hot water several times (15 to 30 seconds), then let it steep for 5 minutes. The box lists this as medium roast, but I found the coffee a little weak (maybe I'm not dunking it long enough). I added cream and sugar to my second cup and enjoyed that much better. I will say the black coffee is much better than most of the hotel room coffee I've had. I would consider this an item of convenience - throw a few packs in your purse or briefcase when you're on a trip so you always have coffee available. ... show more

They are individually wrapped bags with strings filled with coffee. Installation/setup: Place bag in cup and add hot water. Dunk bag for up to 30 seconds. Let steep 5 minutes. Drink. Final thoughts: I like this, it worked really well and made a decent cup of coffee. I’ve never had good luck with coffee bags, but this was the exception. I’m no connoisseur of coffee, I just drink what I like. This was a good tasting cup of coffee. I drank it without cream or sugar and it wasn’t bitter or bad tasting. I am a coffee snob. I have several coffee machines in my house. The most expensive one cost $600 more than my first car. These coffee bags make just as good coffee as that machine. I think each bag would be better to make about a quart of coffee if I was to let it steep 5 minutes. I could tell by the color that 30 seconds was enough time for my preferred strength in one cup. There is a lot of coffee in each bag. This is definitely medium roast coffee. It is not bitter. It is not sour. It does not have any burnt notes. It is well balanced. Inside a relatively large box I found 8 individually sealed coffee bags with strings and tags. Conveniently, brewing instructions for both hot and cold brew are printed on the box as well as on each individual pouch. The bags are generously filled given a recommended beverage size of just 6 oz. I don’t like my coffee too strong and found I was able to use twice as much water per bag to brew coffee that was more than adequately strong. This produced a moderately strong brew with good medium roasted bean flavor. For a test of cold brew, I put 1 bag in about 16 oz. of water, then covered and refrigerated it for 17 hrs. (12-24 is recommended on the packaging). This produced a pleasant, mild cold coffee. Some might find it a bit weak and light-colored as expected since I used more than twice the water recommended. It was okay for me but if you like stronger coffee or plan to have ice melting in your cold brew, you’ll want to stick closer to the 6oz./bag recommendation. Finally, I note that these single serve bags are a good choice for travel and camping but are less sensible for home use assuming you have some sort of coffee brewing device. ... show more

Seriously. Who, besides the cup and saucer extend the pinkie finger people drinks 6 ounce cups of coffee? 6 oz = 3/4 of a cup. A swallow and a half. Thankfully, although the directions direct you to steep a pouch in 6 ozs of water, this coffee is strong enough to adequately provide a 10-12 oz serving. And it's decent coffee too! These bags are a nice step up from instant coffee. You do not need a lot of complicated equipment to get a great cup of coffee in the morning with these tea bag like coffee satchels. These are also great to travel with as all you need is hot water and a little bit of time. I took these to work as we don't have a dedicated coffee maker but have access to hot water..
