I started trying to grow some mushrooms, I have a lions mane & some black morels. I used their small, 3-pack culture and both failed to produce mycelium. So I ordered this & am pleased to announce my morel spores have started showing up within 2 days. Their small little ones are terrible but this (which stretches spores) seems to be working quite well. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer, I plan to try shitaki, pink oysters & some other types of mushrooms. (Wish truffles were possible- HA! Make some serious cash selling truffles, just look out for the truffle mafia, they are supposedly very, very seriously dangerous folks) ;-)

It's in the instructions, but the magnetic stirrer for use with a stirring plate will likely be stuck to the underside of the lid. Take a good, careful smack to dislodge it. So far it's been sufficient with a magnetic stirring plate to break out mycelium so it can be collected with a long needled sampling syringe. It is definitely large and will support very large colonies. Good starting point if you don't have the means to make your own LC jars, or just want something relatively foolproof to start with to see what success should look like. I tried it both on and off a seedling heating mat and definitely recommend use of a good graphite seedling heating mat--spring for the thermostat controlled type, it's absolutely worth it for best results. If your environment is too hot or too cold, your culture will stagnate.

Let me multiply my genetics in no time after they sent replacement for mine showing as dropped off but not amongst my packages. I don’t take that for granted and really do appreciate it greatly. Of course this is more of an emergency solution because you HAVE TO learn how and start to making your own if you don’t just stick with one type of mushroom because the price for those jars is steep ( and everyone selling them charges more or less the same) compared to making your own. But, the LC Media is good, obviously nutritious ( 2cc leftover LC turned into a huge blob filling the jar with beautiful, strong LC once agitated properly.

What a giant piece of garbage, dont waste your money! This arrived with one fuzzy dot in it. Days later it was hundreds... Not sterile as promised at all... seriously, all you have to do is.pressure cook it for 20 minutes... how do you mess that up?! This is supposed to be a professional company, you only had ONE JOB and you failed. Make sure you aren't wasting your time or money with these guys, just buy the jars, lids, and powder liquid culture and that's it... I would be embarrassed to be the seller... they must be using a dirty workspace or cutting corners on the sterilizing part. I would have wasted my spores with this product. If you do buy it, let it sit for a week and see what grows!

Was expected today may 31, but delayed for another week? Great product but shipping usually delays with these and now it warming up I don't know if that's a good thing. Hope it is still viable.

I inoculated this jar 4 days ago with 1ml of clean liquid culture. This is just 4 days of growth. I will be testing this out on some agar very soon. So far it looks clean and free of contamination.

I have been using Mcyo Labs XL Culture kits for awhile now and want to post a review to say how well these work. I have 6 jars now and all of them are working beautifully. When they arrive, there is a small amount of sediment on the bottom. This is the light malt extract and is actually what the mycelium form around when it germinates. These are the only LC Kits I've seen that on and it is clearly there for a reason. I get the best growth with these jars and only once I had a jar leak, mainly because I saw FedEx toss this box over my fence but they quickly replaced it and haven't had an issue since! I highly recommend! 5-star customer service!
