Well I've had this in my truck for a while now. Works just fine can't beat the price I highly recommend this alternator.

    • Cheap for a reason, wouldn't recommend
So I waited 2 years before I wrote my review for this alternator, and for good reason. I was in a bind and nobody had an alternator available, as this was at the beginning of covid and everything was shut down, supply lines were in disarray, and shelves were empty. So I ordered this as I was in need. The good, it arrived. The bad, taking off the original alternator was simple, and this one should have dropped right in. Wrong, it was tighter than a dolphins blowhole. It took some gentle, yet forceful coercion for it to get seated. Next was the charging voltage, which admittedly in hindsight should have been a dead giveaway, which fluctuated from around 14.5 volts on a cold start, to around 11 to 12 when it warmed up. Yeahhhhh I should have known something was fishy then. Drove on this for 2 years almost exactly, a little over 26 months or so i cant remember but pretty close to that, coincidentally enough the warranty is 24 months... hmmmm... would anyone like to guess what happened next? Yup, driving home one evening with the family I hear the air conditioner blower fan get noticeably less strong. I look at my gauges and nothing out of the ordinary. Yet. Luckily I wasn't too far from home, because about a quarter down the road I look again and the alternator isn't charging. Got it home, went to go and get a new AC Delco and to my dismay it was made in China as well, but alas I took this one off and was expecting fitment issues. Tell me why the OE alternator brand dropped right in? And is charging strong at 14.75ish volts all the time regardless of temperature? Summary for those of you who skipped to the end, don't buy this if you're keeping the car. If you're selling it, or giving it to your least favorite child then maybe take a gamble. But be prepared to use mechanical persuasion while installing. ... show more

Voltometer doesnt read correctly. Diagnostics says voltage regulator failed. Installation was easy and 2007 tahoe works fine but I'm worried the regulator's fluctuation in readings won't allow for the rest of the electrical components on the vehicle read/work correctly. It was easy to install, but that has to do with how the vehicle was manufactured, not the replacement part. But for the cost of the alternator, I'd expect a lot longer life expectancy. It crapped out in less than 4 years and cost me a tow back home. I won't buy this product again.
