  • All Around Great Peoduct
This premier one chicken fence has been great! We did not purchase the kit to electrify the fence. Only issue we had is a raccoon chewed through several of the wires. Not the fault of the fence, just a word of caution that some critters can chew through the fence. All around great product.

  • Quick, easy, and effective!
Have used this fence for years in conjunction with battery powered fence charger as a temporary fence for my dogs. It is easy to install, easy to move for maintenance (mowing) and the dogs respect it after the first encounter.

  • On roll number 5
This fence is sturdy and will drop you. Not like the old fence on the farm.

  • Mine had problems - Yours may not!
Apparently, someone made an error at the factor when assembling the unit I received. It had a lead on the start post misrouted, such that it made it impossible to roll out the fencing. Had to return it. Probably the exception, rather than the rule, but be cautious.

  • What a piece of crap!
To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. We have been using chicken fences from Rent a Coop, and pig fences from Premier 1 for the past few years. We were getting meat chickens this year and I saw that the cost of the ones we had been using had gone up quite a bit, also we were having an issue with some of the lines breaking after a few years, so I decided to try this fence-big mistake! When I picked it up and felt how much less it weighed, I was sort of happy at first, because they can be a pain to move alone. Unfortunately, it weighs less because it is cheap. The poles are basically bendable, they don't have the step on metal tab that out our other fences have, and so as soon as the ground dries up, I'm never going to be able to get these in the ground. The lines fall off the top of the poles and the lines get twisted around the bottom, and I have only moved this 1 time, as in I put it up, realized it needed to move and then moved it-nothing but issues! I grew more mad as I went on, cursing this fence. Then another issue, we can't get it to electrify properly. We used a good charger, that we have used successfully before rated to 2 miles of fence-this fence is 164ft. So we guess the problem is that the fence is too droopy and it is grounding out. So now we have to use more plastic fence posts to try and make it less droopy, all the while our chicks are basically unprotected outside their coop. If you live in a perfectly flat place, and you just want to put up a fence and leave it for months-this might work for you. But we have a only a slightly hilly spot, and the bottoms are dragging because the poles are too weak-you simply can not pull them tight without the poles bending weirdly. I don't know if there are better more expensive fences from this brand? Our pig fences aren't the best from them either, but the poles are much thicker, the lines don't fall off and because the fence is much shorter, the problems aren't as much of an issue. Also our pig fence was put up and only moved once in the 9 months we had out pigs-so different story. I wish I would have gone with the Rent a Coop fence for a little more. I would rather have a few good years of use than problems from day 1. I just don't know about packing this up and returning it, we have a bunch of chicks out on the pasture and they can't be without a fence, so I don't know what to do. I can not recommend this fence, at all. I wish I had never bought it. ... show more
