  • More Capacity, Better Quality than Backpack Models
This thing rocks! Being new to spraying my own property, I was looking into backpack models, thinking they would be convenient. But then I got put off by all the bad reviews: "Leaky." "Bad wand." "Busted pump." "Horrible straps." To find anything of quality, I was looking at something far north of $200. Then I realized, "Hold up. I have an ATV." On a whim, I decided to compare. The ATV-mounted tanks with pumps were *way* cheaper than their backpack counterparts, had far more capacity, and had better reviews. What gives? So I got one. Wow—this thing is a beast. Well-built in the USA, solid, and simple. Pumps kicks on "on-demand" (meaning the tank isn't pressurized). Good wand quality, and the nozzle adjustment provides nice variation: I can mist my bushes, and I can stream up to my second story dormers, windows, and trees. Pro Tip: Keep the extra hose length (nice to have!) wrapped around the tank to keep it away from the tires. Yes, it got caught under an ATV tire once and squeezed my chest hard. The tubed popped off the pump, but no damage. Quick re-connection, and away we went. I can blast 25-gallons on my property with ease. Love this thing. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Great sprayer but be warned...look for paper in tank before first use.
Very satisfied with this sprayer. It works great! However, be warned! There was a piece of paper (possibly 2) inside the tank that I did not see. 1/2 way through my spraying project, the pump stopped working. When I checked, the filter was full of bits of paper that had apparently disintegrated in the water and chemical. Thankfully the filter caught the paper and didn't ruin the pump, but I had to stop what I was doing and drive an hour back home without finishing for the day to get it cleaned out. Don't know if this was more instructions or directions, but I had no idea it was in there until I found it in the filter. ... show more

  • BUYER BEWARE - QUIT WORKING THE FIRST TIME WE USED IT AND NEW COMPANY DOES NOT HONOR WARRANTY!
07/12/2023: We used this sprayer for the first time and it quit working after ONLY 20 minutes. We called customer service at Precision Products (incredibly nice people!) and they said that they had recently sold this division to Delavan Pumps and that we would need to reach out to them. We then called Delavan Pumps and the customer service rep said that they were not sure how to handle this issue because they had just taken over the division but she would look into it and call us back. We waited two days and they never called. We had to call them several times but each time was told that they were still trying to figure it out and assured us that they would call us back. So, we waited and finally, days later, they called back and had the nerve to say that they needed to determine if it was a manufacturing defect or user error and they wanted us to send the sprayer back to them AT OUR EXPENSE, and that it could take up to 30 days for them to make a determination. THIS SPRAYER WAS BRAND NEW STILL UNDER WARRANTY?! THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE! BUYER BEWARE! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SPRAYER! READ THE REVIEWS! LOTS OF THEM SAY THE PUMP GOES OUT RIGHT AWAY AND DELAVAN PUMPS WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY! ... show more

  • Good sparayer but....
I bought this sprayer last year, mounted it on my atv, and used it in my 100' x 50' garden. The spray wouldn't reach the center without putting a large arc on the spray so I would only count on it reaching 20' horizontally. I also used it to spray our fruit trees at a height of about 15' which it reached. It worked fairly well and I was quite happy with it. For the winter, I removed the pump and stored it in a plastic bag. This spring the pump wouldn't work. I opened it up and examined the little rubber valves. They appear to be distorted. Replaced the pump for about $50 bucks and the sprayer works well again. I'll see if I can get replacement valves for the old pump. This winter I will examine the valves before storing and take other precautions to prevent distortion. I am actually quite happy with the sprayer but if I can't correct the problem with the valves, I won't be buying a new pump for it every year. ... show more

  • it is very easy to buy and replace a malfunctioning pump since it ...
I have a larger version of this which is a tow-behind. I have this particular model mounted on the ATV for spraying my coffee trees. I have to be a bit careful as the weight of 15 gallons of water is 120 pounds and makes it a little dicey to drive and maneuver. I suggest you may wish to thread a plastic or metal hose valve on the bottom drain so you can attach a garden hose and use the valve to open and close it for draining and/or/cleaning. Those valves are a couple dollars where you buy garden hoses. All that is supplied is a hose connection and a cap. On these units, it is very easy to buy and replace a malfunctioning pump since it is mounted on top. ... show more

  • Works well, but then dies after a few months of light use.
I'm a professional landscape health specialist, and I first bought one of these a year ago to use on my spray rig as a tank for rinsing/hand washing. It lasted about 3 months, and then stopped working completely. I bought a second one (hey, it's the cheapest option), which lasted the rest of last year's season. I pulled it out of my heated garage this spring, and...it wasn't working. Bought a third one, again, because it's cheap. It died last week. For all three of them, the use has been regular, but not heavy--a few seconds here and there over the course of the day. It works fine, but then the motor just gives out. With the light use, I see them as replaceable for a professional, but if a homeowner who wants to buy one and have it last, this ain't the sprayer for you. Rather than try this brand again, I'm going to buy a slightly more expensive one and see if it lasts longer. If not, I'll go back to the $123 option and just call replacing it twice a year a cost of doing business. ... show more
