I installed this wallpaper without help, and it is very easy if you know a few little tricks. It was much easier to work with than the old style wallpaper because you can expose a little bit of adhesive at a time, and this pattern is very forgiving for matching one section to the next. There was almost no waste, and the seams are virtually invisible unless you run your finger over them to identify by touch. Trick #1 is to only pull away enough of the backing at the beginning to stick the very top in a couple places (i.e., expose only about 2 inches of the adhesive at the top to start, line it up to vertical as best you can, and only press to the wall in one or two little areas to tack it in place). Then go to the middle of the section and line up the sheet to be perfectly straight (leaving the backing in place for now). Then hold the wallpaper firmly in alignment with one hand, and reset the top to be perfectly adjusted to the middle. Then slowly peel down the backing by pulling uniformly and gently from the right and left at the same time to reveal a foot or two of adhesive at a time, and squeegee to seal it. Trick #2 is to use a window squeegee, rather than a little one because you cover much more area and the window squeegee has a nicer handle. Trick #3 is to start in the middle if you have some vertical reference. In my room, I began on the inside edge of the left window in the photo. Then I worked right and left from there. The accent wall took about 2.5 hours from start to finish.

Bought this over two yrs ago. Holding up well in my kitchen and living room area. But in the bathroom where it is humid, it is peeling back. Just glued it. Still love it. Beautiful. Hasn't faded. Wipes clean easily. Very Satisfied.

Looks just like photos. Using in my classroom on desk, bulletin board, outlet covers. Sticks well. Easy to apply. Easy to cut with Kraft knife. Have noticed a few spots where it has separated from backing before I used it so had to be diligent with making sure it was smooth.

Beautiful product. My roommate thought it would look bad but it matched up for nicely to my already painted brown and blue accent walls in my home. Hired contractor to do this job. Unfortunately, the product can be very difficult to use due to its stickiness, especially if you put the contact paper horizontally. The contractor had to buy 5 more rolls and I originally bought 5 rolls. But in defense of the contact paper, the contractor was a very bad one and his workers just did not know how to use this product correctly and were hoping that I wouldn’t be picky about the botched job they originally left. Despite it being a beautiful product, it is way too expensive when compared to similar products on Amazon or even in brick stores. Hopefully, this review will help this product explain the horizontal application use of this contact paper and strongly encourage the use of professional for using the product in this manner, and to lower the price of this product to a more reasonable price for future purchasers. Received this product today and was excited to cover the glass inserts on the doors of my entertainment center. At first glance, product looks decent. The “look” of the paper is fine. Slight wood grain finish is nice. HOWEVER, this paper is so thin and delicate that it makes it impossible to get a good result. It rips just peeling it from the backing, and the surface gets scratches just from trying to smooth out the many bubbles that come from the creases that are somehow imbedded in the paper. Seriously, do not recommend. I wouldn’t even purchase this product again for $1. I’ve worked with other contact papers before and none have been nearly as difficult to work with or as thin. Not to mention, all previous products were purchased at a cheaper price from an actual store. I don’t write reviews, but I really HATE this product, and would like to spare somebody else the hassle.

I had a hopelessly bland beige desk and a dream: a quick, budget-friendly transformation into something rustic and chic. I’ve seen the magic of contact paper online and thought, "How hard can it be?" This roll of practicalWs paper was my chosen tool. Unrolling it, the embossed wood grain looked promising, but the material itself felt thin, giving me my first hint of the battle to come. The reality of applying it was a lesson in frustration. The self-adhesive is incredibly aggressive, meaning you get one good shot before things go wrong. When I tried to gently peel back a section to fix a wrinkle, the thin material stretched, distorting the wood grain pattern permanently. The main event was chasing a galaxy of air bubbles with a squeegee for what felt like an hour, only to watch new ones appear elsewhere. It’s a two-person job, but I was flying solo, and it was a struggle. After a long fight, the desk is... covered. From across the room, it has what I now call its "good side" it definitely looks better than the old beige. And the waterproof surface is a legitimate plus; a coffee spill wiped right up without issue. But up close, my eyes are drawn to the war wounds: a corner that tore no matter how gently I worked, a seam that refuses to lay perfectly flat, and that slightly stretched, unnatural look in the spot I tried to fix. So, here's my honest, 3-star debrief. This isn't a simple, forgiving product for beginners. If you're still determined to try it, my advice is to start with something small and completely flat, like a shelf or drawer liner, not a whole desk with corners. Buy more than you think you need to account for mistakes. It gets three stars because it did cover the ugly surface and it is waterproof. It loses stars for the maddening application process and a finish that looks good from far, but is far from good up close. It’s a cheap fix, yes, but be prepared for the price to be your patience.
