I had a long edge to trim for a deck project, and my original Festool rail had seen better days. These two rails cost less than one replacement OEM rail would cost. Manufacturing quality is pretty good, not as good as Festool, but it still works fine. The adhesive used for the slick parts of the top peeled up a bit, but again, still did not affect the cut. The zero clearance edge sticks out pretty far, but is trimmed off after the first cut. It comes with two bars to join the tracks together, those work fine. Only negative was a slight bend on one end, probably due to shipping. Update: I have used these rails on and off for about 2 years and I have been really happy with them. I bought one of the storage bags for the rails which helps immensely to keep them from getting damaged and I store the two Powertec and the original festool rail together. I'm not a pro, but I do enough work around the house where this saw and these rails make the difference. A recent boat restoration project was helped along by using the rails to cut new pieces of plywood in all sorts of shapes and sizes. The zero clearance strip is still a bit loose but it hasnt fallen off and doesnt seem to affect the cut quality at all. ... show more

    • Nice Tracks, Don't Work with Milwaukee Anti-tip

Overall, the tracks were well packaged, arrived without any damage, and were straight side by side and next to my level. I wasn't a huge fan of the anti-splinter strip, as it had adhesive on it which would have surely attracted saw dust. I suppose once it was dusty it would no longer be tacky and would not be a problem. Just a fit and finish critique, as I still think these are 5 stars when you factor in the value and apparent accuracy. The only problem, I bought these for my Milwaukee track saw (2831-20) based on several reviews that they were compatible. I come to find out Powertec has specific Milwaukee tracks now. And while my saw fit on the tracks, the anti-tip would not engage, at least not properly. I returned these and will likely bite the bullet on the Milwaukee tracks, as the Powertec version for my saw is only marginally cheaper. These tracks are good enough for the price that I bought three of them. They are every bit as good as fess tool but not out of the box. Do yourself a big favor and order the fess tool clear plastic edge strip refill kit along with these when purchase. The installed black soft rubber strips on the blades cut edge has horrible adhesion. Not just a fluke. Within just a few times of moving the tracks around on a flat cut table all of cut edge strips began to peal off at the ends. The adhesive sticks well to the track but not the rubber strip. I purchased three so I could maintain an 8ft and separate cross cut 4ft track for breaking down sheet goods. Plus an overall 12ft for making rips on sheets of Corian n other solid surface products. Fess tool joint connectors I highly recommend as an upgrade for a more solid connection. They have more squared edges and a tighter fit overall to gain a more ridgid fit to maintain a straight cut line. Even though the ones from and/or included do work effectively. Overall track quality build as in the aluminum itself is very very good. I've previously worked for a company that solely used fess tool products and these are quite comparable in quality. Just do yourself the favor and rerplace the edge cut strips immediately or you will be left with down time with shipping on new strips. Once they become unattached you can try to reglue but ultimately cut accuracy is out the window unless 1/16 off is good enough for what you got goin. Yes I do recommend But I do recommend the two product upgrades as well for better accuracy ... show more

Arrow straight. Tested with a 4 foot Starret machinist's straight edge. Joining mechanism works well, but Festool's is somewhat better. The cutting edge strip is well adhered and of a stiffer, sturdier mateial than Festool's. Quality is there. Cost is well under half that of Festool. I'm a Makita guy overall, but when it comes to track saws I'm a Festool guy. They just are better thought out and the well thought out system really does make a difference. I have an $800 TS60 track saw, four hundred dollars worth of the FSK series crosscut track system which is an unique tool and in itself is a darn good reason to buy the TS60 saw, and a $700 CT MIDI dust extraction system, so I'm not a penny pincher, but I spend money where it makes sense. Festool's ridiculously expensive standard tracks don't make sense. I have bough Makita track in the past, but I actually like this Powertec track better. ... show more

First I would like to say I am glad that there are other products for track saws on the market that don’t cost a ton of money. I got the two powertec tracks and two rail connectors for half the price. I have 3 Festool tracks for my HKC55 (great saw) and Powertec tracks are thicker and feel more stable, now with that being said that will mess with the depth of cut, but not a big deal. The most important part it to trim the splinter guard straight make sure you fit your saw tight to the track. When trimming the two rails, install the connectors make sure they are inline with a straight edge, don’t trim the guard from one end to the other plung into the middle of the first track and then go to the end got to the end of the second rail and then disconnect the rails and switch them around. I do it this way because when you put the track on the rail from the end there is always a little play, and if the rails haven’t been trimmed the first 3 inches of the guard will be a little different than the rest. Sorry for the long review in short they are great tracks buy them make some saw dust and have fun with it. ... show more

I bought this for my Wen CT1065 saw, and I am very impressed with how they work with differing products. They were dead plumb when connecting the two tracks and a bonus; they work fairly well with my DeWalt DW6184 router. I had to buy the adapter (which with some persuasion, worked). Not any fault of the tracks, hence why it gets a 5 star review. The one downfall, which I’m sure could easily be fixed, is the adhesive pads. I used my friend’s DeWalt tracks with his saw, and you definitely don’t need the clamps. This adhesive isn’t the best, but clamp it, and you are good to go. I bought the DeWalt clamps (can you tell I’m biased yet?) and they work perfect with this. I would certainly buy this product again for the price point and accuracy.     • Splinter track shaving get stuck underneath rubber inserts in track guides.

Tracks are ok. I haven’t used them much because the splinter guard became jagged and I had to replace it. I don’t think that’s an issue with the tracks. The issue that is most annoying is that when you first calibrate the splinter guard by cutting it, the shavings go everywhere, even with dust collecting shop vaccum. This is also to be expected (somewhat). The annoying part is that these shavings get stuck underneath the rubber grips that lay along the tracks. This is because the side of those rubber strips are still sticky and they end up getting wedged under the rubber strips. I spent over an hour digging them out with a pick. I’m not sure if the shavings will affect the performance, but it makes the tracks look trashy and I can imagine it will eventually start lifting up the rubber tracks. It also makes the tracks uneven vertically due to tiny pieces stuck underneath. Maybe you can run a roller along the rubber pieces to ensure they are well stuck down prior to the first cut, not sure if this will solve the issue. ... show more
