The media could not be loaded. Easy to assemble, although had to dismantle the box to get it all out. Tested everything in the garage awaiting snowfall. Everything seemed to work fine. Had 1 inch of very light snow last night, goody, I thought. Got the machine out, the self-propelled worked fine, the augur was running fine --- until I hit snow, then it blew the snow nicely until it went about a foot and then stopped dead. Checked things out, no jam, started it up again, no problem until it had gone about a foot forward in the snow and then the augur stopped dead, just as if it had hit a large stone. Nothing in the augur or impeller and the driveway was cement with nothing on it that could have jammed. Called the support line (terrible echo and two sets of voices in the background) but they offered to replace it if I could ship it back. Because it's battery powered they have no places that work on them. The solution may be simple (bad gear box?) or complicated. I'm 77 and figuring out how to get it back to them would be a nightmare. I sent them more information and will update this review if and when I hear more. Otherwise, I try to sell the unit. The batteries (2) are worth 50% of the units cost. Stay tuned. Follow-up 1/11/25. Customer service was very good and they offered to replace the unit. Apparently they don't fix battery units, they just replace them. My son-in-law was over and we checked over the unit trying assorted things. The augur shuts down immediately if shifted into reverse, so we wondered if perhaps there was some connection. We messed with the forward/reverse lever and amazingly enough the unit now functions normally. I haven't had any deep snow so it's hard to give a complete review (I will follow-up with battery life, etc.) but so far after the fix, I am pleased with it. Changed one star to 5. Edit 1/23/25 2 inch snowfall last night. Had a repeat of the same problem. Unit would go two feet then stop. Frustration, but after a couple hours, went out again and this time played with the order in which the augur and movement handles were engaged. I think (!?) the augur must be engaged first and then the power handle engaged and then it seems to work fine. I don't know if this is an anomaly for just my unit or what. I know that if you shift into reverse while the augur is running the augur will shut down. Has anyone else had this experience? Edit 2/13/25 Had 6 inches of snow. Unit worked flawlessly. I have determined that when the spout is pointed to the left as far as it will go, that's when the unit stops dead after a foot of blowing. Odd, but now it's working well and handles 6 inches easily.

This snowblower was a workhorse during the heavy snowfalls this past winter in upstate NY. You’d never know that it wasn’t powered by gas since the 80V battery took care of most of the driveway in one run. Bought a battery lawn mower by the same company which is also exceptional! Great company and would buy from again!

Heres my honest opinion of this snowblower. Bought it as a second snow blower to help with clean up . Heres my review: product arrived quickly from manufacturer . Assembly was faster and easier than my power smart gas 2 stage . Instructions well put together. The ease of use with the levers to control chute were great and worked as described . Ordered with battery pack and did receive it in the box . ( Performance ) we got 4 inches of wet mix snow and it did great . Very quiet . The battery lasted about 30 minutes . But in 30 minutes it cleared half my lot . So i probably will be ordering a second battery for next winter season as a backup. The one thing that i found that i did not like was having to hold the auger lever down constantly to keep blower on . But thats an easy diy fix . Definitely had the power to handle the snow wet mix with no problems . Overall definitely would recommend this to anyone seeking a battery powered 2 stage snow blower.

I am shocked that this item has received any more than zero stars. I purchased this and used it once.. Upon my attempt to use it a second time I immediately received a "fault notification" indication when the auger attempted to actually throw snow. I contacted PowerSmart and initiated a warranty, and received the following response; "We have forwarded this to our management team and am waiting to hear a reply. I should hear something this upcoming week and will follow up." Thanks for that, as it is snowing 7" a day here in Wisconsin. After waiting more than a week, I received a message to take it to a specific service location, but when I contacted them, they said they do not service PowerSmart, because "PowerSmart does not respond to them in regard to service parts". If after reading my review anyone is still considering purchasing this terrible snowblower, I would strongly encourage you to 1) look at a map of their service locations, and 2) Contact the service location near you to ask if they actually service PowerSmart. Lastly I would add that it is next to impossible to make u turns with this because you have to turn off the auger to move backward and maneuver. Hope this helps make the choice easy.
