If you don't know much about generators - an 'inverter' generator provides clean power (sine waves) so you can connect anything including sensitive electronics like computers. Inverter generators are also very efficient and use less gas to run compared to traditional generators. This Power-Smart 1500w inverter is essentially one of the smallest inverter generators you can get. I got this generator for my parents to have as a backup since they don't have the room or strength to haul around a BIG heavy generator. Believe it or not this tiny thing can easily run your refrigerator, TV, Computer, Fans, all at the same time. It can work as a good emergency backup power generator in an outage. I 'broke it in' and ran it for 6 hours powering my fridge and it still had HALF A TANK of gas left. The gas tank is only 1 gallon! It only used half a gallon in 6 hours! It's VERY efficient! Changing the oil is a breeze, you simply remove the side panel to access the oil plug and since it's so small and lightweight you literally just pick it up and tilt it over to get the old oil out. Super easy. It's also VERY quiet since it is an inverter generator. MUCH quieter than my bigger 3500w inverter generator. This generator is not listed as 'ultra quiet' but it's pretty close. You won't be able to hear it running outside of your house and you can still have a conversation around it. Although it's listed as 1500 watts that's only 'starting' watts and the actual running wattage is 1000 watts. This means that it won't be able to run things like microwaves greater than 1000 watts or a electric heater in full power (usually 1500w) but most have half power settings ~700w which should work just fine. TV's, Fans, Computers typically draw 50W-100W each so it can handle it no problem. Refrigerators have a 'surge' startup that can go 500W+ and then settle down to 50W-200W depending if the compressor is running or not. If you want to plug in a fridge plug that in first before plugging in other things. In conclusion believe it or not this makes a great backup generator, it's small and lightweight and can easily handle most of the things you will want in an outage. Better than having no power! Surprised how easy this thing starts and it’s a lot quieter than I imagined. L live out of car and this is a great size, it will charge both my battery boxes, charge my laptop, tablet, cordless vacuum, and my Apple Watch without cutting out, it also seems to be really good on fuel. Also the review section is a combo of sizes I got 1500w update this thing is an oil hog in 30 hours of running I’ve had to top off oil 3 times as it will start shutting itself off

So, I purchased this generator 4 months ago. I finally used it for my first tailgating opportunity and it was only running one 24 inch TV. After about 5 hours it started shutting down. After restart it would shut down again in 10 minutes with the overload light flashing red as it shut down. When I called Amerisuninc on September 7th to ask them about this problem, I was told that running it for 5 hours was a long time and that I shouldn’t run it so long as it gets hot. Really? It’s a generator and many generators around me on the same day I was tailgating ran for 10 hours or more with no issues. So, if my power goes out and I wanted to run my refrigerator, I better tell the power company that I only have 5 hours and they need to have my power back up by then. What a joke, I have never heard a manufacturer say that about their product - in this case a 2200W generator. Worse response ever and worse product I have ever bought. Please get a Ryobi, or Honda, or some other more reputable brand than Amerisuninc. I would like my money back as no where in their brochure or in the description do they ever mention this limitation. The brochure even says at 1/4 load it can run for 10.5 hours. Go figure, that’s a straight up lie! This happened again with using it outside to run my electric chainsaw. After running it for a few hours (on and off) it started shutting down again. It is truly a worthless generator.

Awesome generator, starts up on the second pull every time! Quiet and powerful! I run two laptop, a monitor, A laser engraver, a shop vac, two box fans and charge three cell phones and still have room to spare! Never came close to full throttle!

I've used this generator a few times and it is well worth the money. It is VERY quiet on eco mode and not so loud on regular mode. This is perfect to have just in case the power goes out or you just want to show off at events with this quiet generator and a small ac unit or high-volume fan. I would buy it again

I filled the engine oil, approx. 1/3 quart of oil. Filled the gas tank. Ran the generator about 5 minutes. Checked the oil, it was clean ( no metal shavings) and at the full level. I started it back up, ran a floor fan and charged my bicycle battery, as well as my phone. It seemed to handle the load, very easily, not even a tenth or the gas was used, almost an hour run. Seems like a solid buy so far.

I brought this generator for an event . At the time of event the generator would not turn on . I was told that I could not return. I lost money for a defective product and for the machines I could not plug up for the event I paid to be at.
