This torch is excellent both for kitchen and utility use cases. I have used it for finishing a sear on meat, melting cheese, and starting campfires. The listing describes this torch as "powerful," and it wasn't lying. This torch has an extremely strong flame, and I would caution anyone who buys it to first try it out in a safe area before use in the kitchen. Even a 1/16 turn on the control knob provides a strong flame. The torch does a great job for kitchen and grilling uses after you get used to controlling the power. However, I have noticed that this torch sometimes imparts a very strong propane flavor on my food. This flavor is sometimes so strong that it renders the food inedible. Other times, there is no propane flavor. Overall, this kitchen torch does a great job, but can sometimes lower a meal's quality. Despite this problem, I would still recommend this torch as its utility outweighs the occasional propane flavor.

This is much more than a cooking torch. It has many applications so you may as well buy it for your toolbox. It's built nice and sturdy and the adjustment dial doesn't feel cheap. It also has a very wide flame range for different projects and it sounds pretty cool.
