  • Insane value for performance Insane value for performance
This card is great, i upgraded from a rtx 3060 12gb eagle, which as of this moment is $350 new, literally bought this rx 7800 xt for $500 AND it came with a free copy of Avatar frontiers of pandora and not only that but my performance just from that one upgrade has more than doubled my fps, even with ray tracing. I originally got this rx 7800 xt 16gb hell hound to play heavier modlists for Skyrim because the graphics require a beefy gpu and are very memory heavy so the 16gb of vram is very useful, playing Nolvus Ascension modlist with 2000+ mods with ray tracing and enb graphics mods getting 60fps is INSANE with max settings, my 3060 couldn’t handle that ever. The durability of this card feels super nice and its very quiet i never hear it at all period. The power consumption is pretty wild, even with GPU utilization at 99% max settings the power draw never goes past 296 watts so it performs that much better with even less power draw and thats without a undervolting. Plays cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing on easily, you’re not gonna beat the value of this card for the price. It looks beautiful too, the only downside of the hellhound is the rgb is only either purple or a teal blue color but that’s perfect for me since those are my favorite colors but that is something that is subjective. I don’t need anything else, with newer modern games even ones that aren’t optimized very well perform great with this card. Anything above the this card is completely overkill in my opinion cause im someone that loves playing on max graphics while maintaining high performance and this gpu does just that with any game. Don’t hesitate to buy this if you’re looking to play any new game or the heaviest modded skyrim modlists on max settings with ease. ... show more

  • Amazing Graphics card
This is a high-end graphics card. It pretty much runs anything and everything I want on it I mostly use it to play Wuwa as well as other high-end games like Fortnite and I also play Minecraft and other games it works just fine. I’m allowed to put it on high in graphics sometimes even ultra. This graphics card is compatible with all AMD systems. As far as I know it is not overheated on me once and there is a switch in the graphics card to make it silent and overclock it to make games run faster and smoother 10 out of 10 would recommend it ... show more

  • Solid GPU Purchase
I picked up this card to replace an aging, but functional RTX 2060. The FE 2060 didn't have drivers for a "silent" mode and the noise drove me nuts, even at idle. The Hellhound has a good reputation for sound and when it dropped to MSRP I decided to get one. Very happy with the purchase. The card itself seems great. Has optional lights but not RGB. Not a big deal for me. It's big, so check your clearances, but no issues in the case I have. (Be Quiet 500DX) Noise levels are great. Fans don't spin at idle and there's no coil whine even under load. (That's a bit random and not necessarily a defect but it's nice I lucked out.) Performance seems good. It's misleading how powerful this is as I also jumped from 1080p to 1440p at the same time. That masks some of the gains. No complaints. Note / PSA. Fully uninstall all drivers if switching from NVIDIA to AMD GPU's. It can make a difference. For my uses, this seems to a sweet spot buy for this generation. NVIDIA is out of their minds to charge what they are charging for 12 gb of RAM. This 16 gb card should stay relevant for a while. ... show more

  • Very good GPU Very good GPU
Didn't accept Nvidia pricing, and went with the equivalent powerful option at a good price. So far been excellent experience - was in a Egpu setup and than PC as you can see in photos - both preformed well. Playing MW3,BF2042 on ultra settings and getting 100+ FPS stable no crushing, others single player games with raytraycing working good and smooth, don't I even use the upscaling option that much, maybe in Alan wake 2 but didn't played it yet. Paired with 7800x3d and b650m aorus elite ax, 32 GB 6000 cl30, and lian li 216 RGB. Got 2 bios on GPU that can be changed with physical switch - which is oc and silent modes, also colours has physical switch with 2 options - purple and teal. Oc mode - the only mode I use,Takes up to 270w of power, heat doesn't go above 65-70 Celsius even after 3-4 hours of intensive gaming, no matter if it in small Egpu enclosure or PC, and so quiet! Like really quiet, it is a delight to your ears! Same as the nitro version, doesn't make sense to pay extra for it. Got 2 pcie power cable to plug to. Drives. Also work good for me, no noticable problems. ... show more

  • I agonized over this choice.
I was trying to make the choice between this, a 4070 Super, and a 7900 XT. I don't care about ray tracing. I don't play games that use it all that much. I'm glad I saved a few dollars and went with this card. It doesn't use as much power as I thought it would. I notice it getting up to about 175 watts when I'm using it. It provides me plenty of frames. I play mostly World of Warcraft and this card is MORE than enough for that game. Final Fantasy looks really good with this card as well. It is smaller than I thought it would be so I had absolutely no issues fitting it inside my mid tower case with lots of room to spare. It has a switch where you can decide to use ice blue lightning, and amethyst color (light purple), or no lighting. I'm not big on RGB stuff so I use the amethyst. It's sort of soothing. It also has two bios setting switches if you are into that sort of thing. I am not. I did find the need to support the right end with a GPU stand. Without the stand, it didn't sit level. I think this is an issue with nearly every GPU. In any case, it looks sharp, gives me lots of FPS, and is super quiet. It doesn't get hot in my well ventilated case and I'm very pleased with this purchase. I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • First Time Radeon Buyer
As someone who's always used Nvidia gpus and wanted to upgrade my 3060, the 7800XT is my first Radeon gpu. I've been using this gpu for a month now and I will say I've had a few different bugs on the AMD side I never dealt with on the Nvidia side. I had one night where it wouldn't open any game but a simple reboot would fix it. (The issue hasn't replicated since, seemed to be one time). Recently I've been playing D2R maxed out at 1440p and it looks and plays great with this gpu but sometimes when I close it for some reason it will crash. (Seemed to be gone after the most recent driver update). I never had issues like that with that on my 3060, but it doesn't seem to be anything more then minor inconveniences. As a whole I would say for 500 bucks this is a good gpu but if you go team red I feel like you might want to be someone who enjoys pc building, tinkering and troubleshooting more often then Nvidia. If you want a gpu to just work and call it a day get a 4070, but this is a better card at this price if you are a tech person like myself and don't mind working with hardware. Also as a side note if you are coming from a Nvidia gpu to a AMD gpu make sure to do a DDU and remove all of the Nvidia drivers properly before installing AMD ones or you could potentially have a bad time. Pros --- -Better then the 4070 in pure power for cheaper. -AMD Adrenaline software is good. (Live gaming fps counters, overclocking tools, undervolt tools, etc) -10-15 degrees overall cooler system while gaming. -Dual Bios Cons --- -Very large gpu (Check case compatibility). -RT performance isn't as good as the 40 series. -If you mind troubleshooting or dealing with odd as I call them "AMD issues" or use your system for professional business, I'd suggest going for a Nvidia gpu. -Currently features such as anti-lag+, RSR, and FSR are inferior to Nvidia's upscaling and DLSS in maturity. ... show more

  • Best 7800XT without the flashy extras Best 7800XT without the flashy extras
You can't beat the price point for the Hellhound, especially with the $100 Starfield Premium coupon attached. Power Color did a great job with this card. Pros: - Factory OC works perfectly - Solid metal frame (still need a support or it will droop) - Fans rarely kick on, mine runs at 54C at full usage in a ~70F basement - No RGB software to download, only a slider button for colors: ice blue, amethyst, & OFF) - Significant improvement in every game over an EVGA 3070 - Thinner and lighter than my older EVGA 3070 Cons: - Ray-tracing sucks, which I knew because RT is an Nvidia technology. For me, it's not a big deal. - Ran hotter when I tried a vertical install, horizontal seems better for the airflow on this card since fans rarely kick on. - No RGB customization, which I don't care for anyway. Go for the Red Devil if you want RGB. The Hellhound comes with a dual-BIOS option: OC (default) and silent, but I would stick with OC. Benchmarks I've seen show little extra heat, but good FPS improvements. For those curious, the Hellhound is basically the same as the Red Devil version, but without the RGB and not quit as high an overclock. The heatsink is the same. For the price, it's better. No coil whine on mine. But if you experience coil whine, buy a new power supply first, like a Platinum rated. Bad PSU's tend to cause more coil whine than the a bad card. Also, remember to use 2 cables for the 8-pin connectors, don't use both sets of connectors on the same cable. ... show more

  • Drivers seem to be fixed now.
I was hesitant to buy this card for a few reasons, I heard the drivers were terrible and causing issues, I had issues with my first and only other AMD gpu in the past (an R9 Fury that semi-regularly crashed my entire system for seemingly no reason whatsoever) and was deadset on staying with Nvidia, and I had never heard of PowerColor before (haven't shopped for a graphics card for about 6 years). I haven't had any issues with the drivers so far, but I need to mention that from what I've read many of the issues were from people either doing VR or running multiple screens. I do neither of those things currently so can't personally say whether or not that's sorted out. I decided to give AMD another shot because I've been very happy with the 3700x cpu I've been using for the past few years, and I found the extra vram over a 4070 very appealing. Lastly I researched PowerColor and found they have a decent reputation, then when sharing my lingering misgivings with some friends of mine I found out more than one of them have gone with them in the past and never had any issues. So I pulled the trigger and got one. This thing absolutely destroys everything I throw at it (Cyberpunk, RDR2, Metro Exodus, etc) and I'm extremely happy with it. Lastly mine came with a free copy of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, I hadn't heard much about the game and didn't really care that I was getting it, but I installed it anyways intending to check it out for a couple hours to see if I would bother playing it when I was done with Cyberpunk. Turns out it's the other way around, I haven't booted up Cyberpunk since beginning my adventure as the large blue cat-man, and probably won't until I'm done. Fantastic game, no idea why its metacritic score is so low. ... show more
