Although it is faux leather I didn’t find it to cause excessive sweating from there being a lack of airflow. Which is usually the case for fake leather. I got the dark brown which looks nice up against my wooden bookshelves. The remote sits nicely in the side holder so it within reach whenever I wasn’t to use the “massage” function. I will say that my experience with the massage function does not leave me too impressed nor does the heating function. The lift and lower buttons are on the right hand side and they are a press and hold style. The chair gets mighty high. It’s was actually pretty comical the first time I tried it out and let it go all the way up. It easily lifted up 200 pounds. The reclining function that goes up to 140° is further than my reclining couch. The smooth material makes it easy for me to clean it by using a wipe or the like. Another good thing is the chair doesn’t use that much electricity so I don’t mind leaving it plugged it. ... show more

Got this chair for my wife and she says she really likes it. The motor lifts smoothly and quietly. She loves the heat and the massage, even though it's just a vibration. She said it is a comfortable chair to sit in. It seems to be made from quality material that only time will tell how durable it is. It was pretty easy to assemble too. Ordered this chair for my 83 yr old Mom that's had a stroke & has Alzheimer's. So far it has been perfect & she smiled so big when I turn the massage on. I cannot say enough good things about this purchase. It's for an elderly sister-in-law who has been sleeping in a recliner for several years due to a sciatica issue. This chair is perfect for her. The size is just right. She had great fun checking out the features-- heat, massage and lift. She told us the first night that she slept better than she had in a long time.
