  • Very cool to see these reissued!
Color: Blue Size: 60mm
What can I say, they are just as rad now as they were in 1987. They are smooth and fast, still a good all around wheel with excellent grip. If you skated in the 80's and missed the cool big wheels then these are for you. Grab a set and Smile!

  • "Sick"
Color: black Size: 60mm
That is what a kid 30 years my junior said when he tried my board that had these. I even compared them on smooth asphalt with my real old-school Sims B-52s with Swiss bearings and they are much faster! The smaller wheels on most modern skateboards make popping ollie style tricks easier, but for practically everything else, these rule! And these are made in the USA too. Update 1/20/2011: I setup 3 skateboards. My Rat Bones board (Powell Daggers deck with Indy 169's), a new school board with Indy 139's and nice Bones STF 53MM wheels, and a Sector 9 Longboard: 1. New School - Easiest to pop Ollies and do modern kick-flip style tricks. The small, lightweight Bones STF wheels really work well here. Skating the downhill parking lot into the skate park, it is good for about 10MPH all the way down. I complete the frontside turn at the bottom and basically stop at the small drainage ditch before entering the park. Kind of boring. 2. Rat Bones: Start heading down the downhill parking lot. It is a cold day and I have the park all to myself. As my speed increases I can start to feel the windchill. About halfway down I'm going a little faster than the new school board. Cool. Wait a second! I am still going faster - too fast to jump off and I still got a way to go before making the turn. I think I am in trouble. I hit the turn still accelerating and thinking I am about to eat it really bad. A hard longboard style frontside turn slows me enough that I can ollie over the ditch and into the park and up the volcano. The Rat Bones are also faster in every part of the concrete park, especially the pool and half-pipe. 3. Longboard - Sector 9 boards and wheels are also made in the US like Powell decks, Rat Bones and Indy trucks. It is a longboard - well suited for high speed carving and a smooth ride. The Sector 9 wheels are smoother than the Rat Bones but slightly slower. Bottom line: For most types of general riding, these wheels are Da Bomb! Get a set. You might have to use 1/4" risers to avoid wheel bite. Also, be careful the first time you skate something that you are used to in new school wheels. You might find yourself going a lot faster! ... show more

  • Hard-soft wheels
Color: Blue Size: 60mm
These wheels are stylish and I love the color. It is perfect for pool riding or cruising around town on an old-school-style pool deck. They are grippy so you won't be power sliding a whole lot, but hard enough were you can can still fly around the pool without noticeable loss in speed. May benefit from risers if you're riding very loose trucks; the wheel bite can send you flying off your board. Happy skating! ... show more

  • Great wheels! Rode these back in the 80's, perfect ride, excellent value! Thank you!
Color: Blue Size: 60mm
The theme of my retro skateboard is black and blue, and these wheels fit right in! I love the way these ride as they have a certain grip predictability that adds confidence to slides and they're so smooth in skateparks and street riding as well! Was so stoked to find them online as I shredded the pools back in the 80's with them. Thank you kindly for stocking these wheels! ... show more

  • A no BS review - (Powell Peralta Rat Bones Skateboard Wheels 60mm)
Color: black Size: 60mm
Before I transitioned to a much more cushier ride in the form of a longboard, I used a skateboard on my many treks throughout the land. You see, I'm that dude who can't do s*** on a skateboard except propel it forward. I was a tool who bought a pimped out Alien Workshop skateboard from Zumiez with all the premium fixin's. All to the tune of $250. I used it solely to get around places, I initially bought some Ricta Chrome wheels back when I had no idea that not all wheels shared the same hardness. So you can imagine my surprise when I'm rolling out in the mad streets in my area (rich in rocks and pebbles, mind you) with my little 95a Ricta wheels. Eating pavement was a normality at that point in my skate life unfortunately. I learned the errors of my ways. After many many mishaps, I soon realized I needed wheels that suited my needs best. Alas I came across these cushy wheels after much research online. These felt like a godsend compared to the Rictas. I was soon shredding though the pebbles and rocks, not that I still didn't bail attempting the most rudimentary of tricks, I just bailed at a significantly lower rate. These served me for around a year and half and now sit collecting dust as my skating tastes have refined and I retired from street skateboards after realizing I was a TERRIBLE skater. These handled the abuse admirably. they get my stamp of approval. ... show more
