You can use these as traditional frames or get creative to create something unique for your walls. Whichever direction you choose, these frames are good quality and easy to use. The backs come off without issue and hanging them is simple. They are pretty heavy duty. The glass is of decent quality as well. I don't want to jinx it but I think these could withstand a drop from the wall and be okay. These looks as they do in the photo. Light wood with a nice wood grain. I have a monthly art class for Senior Citizens and am always looking for budget friendly supplies for the class. I used these frames to frame alcohol ink abstract paintings that my students created. They have a black wood grain look finish. THe back has a hanging mechanism for wall or a cardboard stand for sitting on tabletop, They have nicely done matts which make the opening 5X7 inches- with the outer frame dimensions being 8X10 inches. These frames are perfect for an art class. They aren’t as sturdy as some higher end frames I have, but for the prices they can’t be beat! ... show more

If you are looking for frames for group gifts or a photo wall and on a budget, these are a good choice. They look like wood and have an authentic-looking wood grain appearance, even though they are MDF. The corners give them away as you can see the lighter color material peeking through a bit. That could be easily remedied with a dark colored marker if that was an issue for you. It's nice that the mat is included to adapt 5"x7" pictures. I would be a little hesitant to use these with the flip-out stand. It's cardboard colored (see ad photo) and doesn't look that nice, so if you are planning on standing them on table top keep that in mind. If you are setting them somewhere the stand won't show it wouldn't be an issue. Most people will be looking at what's IN the frames, not the frames themselves. Overall a good value. I was planning on framing a number of 5 X 7 reproduction movie poster cards, and these frames fit the bill! They are quite sturdy for the price, appear well-made, and could even be gifted. If you are looking for solid wood frames, these have the appearance of woodgrain but are most likely MDF. For the price, however, I don't mind. ... show more
