    • Beautiful and well packed except for the inside shelves
It's gorgeous and very sturdy, solid wood, well finished, definitely worth the money especially since it's fully assembled. Very well packed too, heavy foam all around it, protected all the corners and it's a very thick heavy cardboard box (I bought the smaller 5 ft unit so it didn't have the wood frame around the box that's visible in other people's pics). We used a box cutter to open one end of the box in addition to opening the top so we could slide it out of the box. But as someone else commented, the shelves are not sufficiently packed and one of the shelves came out completely and the cam locks came loose too. Shelf wasn't damaged but to get it back in, I'll have to remove the door, kind of pain since part of what I paid for was "fully assembled". They do put styrofoam blocks in between the shelves but the blocks aren't secured so they easily fall over during shipping and then the shelf comes loose. Also, shelves are removable but not adjustable as someone else noted - that doesn't bother me but be aware of it if you have specific dimensions for something that goes inside the unit. ... show more

Beats over-priced companies such as Crate and Barrel. Solid piece comes in two separate pieces - if you need to have it put in your room you need to arrange separate help as this does not come with a room-delivery option. Fantastic quality and excellent customer service, well packed and protected in layers of dense foam. One of the pieces that supports one of the shelves was removed during transportation and thought it was broken but you can put together and put it back in its place. Highly recommended, solid piece of wood, simple lines, low profile, ample of space inside the cabinets, absolutely perfect for what I was looking for. ... show more

I purchased this item because of its appearance, and because - with the shelves removed - you can store vinyl records in it. I've had this for almost a month now, and really like it. With that said, it's not a perfect product, so here's a couple observations that might be useful when buying: Build Quality and Dimensions: * Sturdy. The wood itself is a bit soft/damageable - it's still not clear to me if it's made out of plywood with a very compelling ash veneer, or if it's just ash - but the console can absolutely hold a lot of weight without showing any signs of distress. There doesn't appear to be any MDF or LDF materials used in construction, which is wonderful. * Smaller than you'd think - because it doesn't really have any legs, the console is less than knee high. Still worked out well in my living room, but it feels unusually short. Other things you might wonder about: * Looks about the same in person as in the pictures, stain might be a little bit darker in real life. * Doors don't have handles, you just grab onto the door and pull. Not a big deal once you remember which way the doors open. Doors latch shut with a reasonably strong magnet. * There are two holes drilled in the center compartment. One for the top shelf, one for the bottom shelf. * All shelves are removable, even in the center compartment. * Arrives fully assembled in a (giant!) cardboard box. The cardboard box is shipped with a nailed-together wooden frame that protects the box edges. If you live in an apartment, you might have to do a bit of work to get rid of all the wood, nails, and cardboard used for shipping. * Your mileage may vary, but the shipping method for this furniture was CEVA. A lot of people online have had pretty bad experiences with that company, but I personally had no real problems. Arrived on time. * Mine got damaged (probably in shipping), but the seller was quick to respond and rectify the situation. Overall, very happy with this one. I'd give it 4.5 stars, so I rounded up. Only thing that would make it better is if it stood slightly taller so it wouldn't appear so unusually short. ... show more

As stated above, the shelves came loose inside the media stand during shipment causing minor scratches and a support screw coming completely out of its hole and splintering the wood (shelf and inner wall). For the amount I payed for this item I don’t find that completely acceptable, but I think returning it will be too much of a hassle for those somewhat minor flaws. Wish I’d kept looking. If you need any sort of cable management for electronics, av gear, etc, this shouldn’t be high on your list. There are only two passthrough holes for cables and both are located centrally, one for the upper middle compartment and one for the lower middle compartment. This really puts a damper on what you can use this unit for with additional disappointment coming from the fact the shelves can only be removed not adjusted. Within seconds of routing my first set of cables, the grommets had all popped out and been relegated to the pile of cables for which they were seemingly included to manage…yeah, not so much. ... show more
