  • Not what I was expecting
Size: 12 Quarts
I haven’t had the time to see if this fantastic fungi soil will make a difference in my flowers. I did mix it with my regular potting medium for the extra boost that it advertises. It’s very dry….dusty, wear gloves as per instructions, don’t know if it burns the skin or not but I did and I also wore a disposable mask once I saw how dusty it was. It’s a good size bag, very lightweight but should go far for the money. ... show more

  • The cats MEOW!
Size: 12 Quarts
If you are a plant addict...I won't have to tell you how good boutique soils like this are. This particular mix has MANY high-quality ingredients including mycorrhizal fungi! If you don't know what this is and what it does for plants, please do a quick search. Basically, the fungi and plants form a symbiotic relationship. The plant provides protection, water, etc. for the fungi and the fungi extend the root system through their hyphal networks, increasing the surface area for water and nutrient absorption. They are particularly effective at absorbing phosphorus, nitrogen, and other micronutrients from the soil, which are then made available to the plant. The fungal hyphae can access water in soil pores that plant roots cannot reach, helping plants to better withstand drought conditions. Mycorrhizal fungi can help protect plants from soil-borne pathogens by outcompeting harmful microbes for space and resources. Plants associated with mycorrhizal fungi often exhibit increased growth rates, better health, and higher yields. I encourage you to look deeper into this because I just scratched the surface. When you buy most soils at the store, they are sterile or near it. This is actually not good. I understand why they do it though: shelf life, investors, blah blah blah. I challenge you to do a little experiment. Plant two paper cups with soil. In one put this product and in another choose any store soil. Sit back and watch the myco soil BLOW AWAY its competition. This soil is the bees knees! ... show more

  • Fluffy soil with good bacteria
Size: 12 Quarts
I love that this soil mix has mycorrhizae as it is making for root development which is very important for healthy plants. I also like that this mix has worm castings for some nutrition for the soil mix. The vermiculite is also great in a potting soil as it helps with nutrient absorption and moisture retention. This is overall a great soil mix to top off your houseplants with or to repot small plants or seedlings into. For mature plants however, I would add a bit more nutrition to the soil. ... show more

  • Initial results are very encouraging for seed starting.
Size: 12 Quarts
I used this, mixed about 50-50 with potting soil and a bit of sand, and my first venture into seed starting has resulted in about a 80% seedling growth success. Previous attempts at starter seeds with just potting soil were a disaster - so this may have made the difference. I won' tknow for sure unitl I run more seedling tests next month, but intiially it looks like it's worth the investement. ... show more

  • Great soil for devil's ivy
Size: 12 Quarts
It's been time to repot my devil's ivy for quite awhile and I've been anxious about it because I hadn't found a good houseplant soil so far. So I tried this one and I was amazed. The soil was rich looking and fluffy feeling. It had no smell other than normal soil smell. It spooned into the pot easily as I filled in the edges of the new larger pot. It was very easy to use. But that's not the best part. The best part is that my beloved plant exhibited absolutely no signs of transplant shock. My plant instead showed nearly instant signs of invigoration. It looks perkier, greener, and the leaves are all growing larger than they were before. I'm so happy! ... show more

  • Perfect base for a versatile potting mix
Size: 12 Quarts
There is something about opening a bag of good quality potting mix that I just can't get enough of. I stay away from certain big brands because they have a tendency to smell of mildew and other unpleasant things. The earthy smell that came from this bag told me that I was going to love it. And I do! It's light and fluffy with a very consistent texture throughout. I can't speak to the benefits of the mycorrhizae or trichoderma in the mix, as nothing I've potted has had a chance to grow yet. However, instead of starting from square one with all of the ingredients, this mix turned out to be the perfect base for me. I threw in some larger grade perlite and coco chips and called it a day! Super simple! I've managed to repot 6 plants in the mix so far, and I can't wait to see everything thrive. ... show more
