I have three indoor cats. I retired about 6 years ago and downsized into a smaller home so the cats and I are living in closed quarters. Two of my cats are around 7 1/2 years old. The other is going on 14. All three play with this toy. The two youngest more so, but they are amused and entertained with it for hours. The female just loves to lay next to it and grab at the feather as well as have the rotating laser and feather wand distract her when it hits in the face. A great idea for bored cats! I like that it can also be set to have just the feather, or just the laser wand as well. Battery has good life as well, and is easy to charge with the USB plug. Overall I am so glad I found this for my cats. They had a great time on Xmas morning!

My cat loves this toy and plays with it often. His favorite part is chasing the red dot, but he enjoys sticking his hands in the holes where the feathers pop out too. My other cat likes to attack the feather on the top. With that being said, the feathers that pop out didn't last but two days. To buy replacement feathers for it is a costly endeavor. My husband is a clever kind of guy and was able to get some off-brand feathers to work that didn't cost nearly as much. To be honest, one of my dogs got a hold of the feather and dragged the unit across the floor. That did not help the cause. A fun unit for the cat, but really isn't dog resilient. Not meant for dogs anyway

I attached a picture of my fur-baby, Angel. All 5 of my cats LOVE this toy. But Angel won't take a break. It stops after 5 minutes since most cats get tired after 5 minutes of play. This toy keeps them engaged and sharpen their hunting skills. Angel sits and waits for it to start again. It will start if they touch it. She has figured this out and came running toward it, flopped herself beside it, and attacks it. If you want a great toy for your fur-baby, this is the one!

I didn't receive instructions with mine. First thing we did was plug it in for about 10 minutes. We tried to turn it on while it was charging and it wouldn't stay on. So we unplugged it and then turned it on and it started working. My initial thought is that it's smaller then expected. The little wire feather on top comes off really easily. The wire itself is really short too. If it was taller, I think the cats would have a lot more fun with it. I think I'm going to order my own longer wire hanger and Jerry rig it on the top. The cats loved when I took the wire hanger off and loved playing with that as a standalone toy, but the wire is so short that when they try to get the feather, they unintentionally get my hand too. Ouch! But they really like it overall. They haven't activated it themselves but we just got it today so maybe I can teach them to swipe the little crystal on top to activate it. How will I teach them to activate it by themselves? I think if I put a treat where the little feathers are supposed to go, one of them will swipe it or accidently activate it. If I put a treat in there often enough, I think they'll know to sniff or look in that area and get used to it activating when they do that. The laser feature does well enough. It's not as great as those robot standing kitten head laser toys because I've had two of those and those are great as a stand alone toy. But this one goes in a small circle, stops, and starts again. So it does feel a little bit more randomized for the kitties. Also overall, the toy is pretty slow. It's good for kitties that are just learning (I have two 6 month olds), but my older cat that's 2 years old, got a little bored with it. I think if it was just a hair faster, it'd be much more engaging. I'd give it a 4 out of five and I think I'm being generous because it's more like a 3.5.

Best $20 bucks spent! I bought the cat toy for my daughter for Christmas, but couldn't help myself, lol, and tried it out first on my very serious, not-so-playful 7-year-old cat, lol. At first, he tried to ignore it, but eventually, he gave in and played with it for a solid 30 minutes! It has a mode that allows it to change between all three features: the laser, top feather, and the feather that comes in and out. It runs each one of them just long enough to keep their attention and then switches to another so it doesn't get boring! I also just realized that it has a speed mode, so it can go a little slower for kittens or speed up for a more challenging game for older, faster cats. How cool! I can't speak for how long it will last as we've only played with it this evening, but if you're on the fence, I'd say go for it! The only thing I could think of that would make it better is for it to come with a couple of replacement feathers, as my cat was able to grab the feather and haul the whole toy around the living room and did that a few times. Surprisingly, the feather still looks great, but I would imagine after a few more times of him doing that, it would need to be replaced. But another really cool thing is, it doesn't take batteries. You just plug it in and recharge it. Absolutely great product for a great price! I'll update in a few months on how it holds up :)
