This thing is really thin and flimsy. I had to tighten it to the point that it cut off circulation to get any support, and even then it was minimal.

I don't use this for pain relief, I'm not sure how it would do for that. I use it to help correct my posture and keep my shoulders from rounding forward. My cervical dystonia is causing muscle contractions in my shoulders and I noticed it makes my shoulders curl forward. It provides resistance to the constant muscle spasms that I have and helps my posture.

I bought this a year and a half ago to help with my posture because I work hunched over a computer all day. I use it when my shoulders get really bad as a sort of reminder for my posture and it works great. Its like a gentle stretch and loosens my muscles/reminds them to hold me up right. I wear it 20ish minutes at a time maybe once or twice a week when my upper back is really bad but for the most part I don't need it but once or twice every few months. Nice to have for when I need it. My one con for it is that if I wear it for too long or move my arms too much while using it, it causes friction/discomfort in my armpits. Not a big deal since it's only meant to be worn for small periods of time and I only use it for about 20ish minutes at a time.
