Description

The PORTER-CABLE PCC740B 1/2" cordless impact wrench, bare tool features a powerful motor which produces 330ft/lbs of torque for heavy applications. It offers a maximum of 1,650 rpm's for driving large fasteners quickly, with a full variable speed trigger for precision control. The 1/2" hog ring allows for quick and easy socket changes. It also has a pro grade lithium battery for long life and maximum performance, along with a led light which helps improve visibility in dark areas. This impact driver is designed with a chemical resistant housing for automotive friendly settings. It also offers the user over mold grips for comfort during use. This unit is lightweight and balanced at 6.0 lbs with battery, and it has a short length measuring 9.9" front to back. This is a bare tool item - battery sold separately. Backed by porter- cable. Includes: (1) impact wrench.

I bought 2 of these to add to my adult children's Porter Cable 20 volt tool sets. They have used them to rotated their tires. Both say the impact gun had plenty of power and are very happy with them. I waited on the purchase until I could read some long term reviews as to how does the tool hold up after a few years. The reports I read were good.     • Pretty good but not for 330ft/lbs
When I purchased this item in early November, it was advertised for 180ft/lbs of torque. Now it says 330 for the same exact item. Seems like false advertising to me. Nonetheless, the impact wrench will handle anything in the 110 to 120 ft lbs range. Anything above that and the bolts won't come off and you'll be smelling that brush motor burning. I bought it to take off wheel and it works well for lug nuts. Way to big to fit anywhere else. Battery life is decent and enough to swap two cars from summer to winter tire/Rim combo without swapping the battery. ... show more

    • Tons of power, easy to handle
I bought the tool only because I have a few batteries for a PC cordless drill that will fit both tools. I used a 6Ah to do some work on my car this weekend. I uninstalled, then installed the 20 lug bolts (not nuts) and did a few other things with no issues. Plenty of torque for the 150 Nm/110 lb-ft specs on my wheels bolts. Durability I rated a 3 star only because I have not had it long enough to know yet. My PC cordless drill has had extensive use and is going strong after a couple of years at least. ... show more

Love it... Works great just like all my Porta Cable cordless tools. Porta Cable quality is as good as Dewalt. Both are owned and made for Stanley Tool Co. Porta Cable is less expensive and works!

I have other Porter Cable 20v MAX tools, so I stuck with the Porter Cable Impact Wrench. It works great for my needs. I've used it to remove lug nuts to rotate tires. My Honda CRV's lug nuts are put on with 85 ft/lbs of torque and this Impact Wrench zipped them right off. My son's Volvo torques the lug nuts to 103 ft/lbs and the Impact Wrench zipped them right off as well. I don't expect to encounter anything over 103 ft/lbs, so this Impact Wrench works great for me. My corded no-name brand 1/2 inch Impact Wrench could not loosen the lug nuts on my son's Volvo. This Impact Wrench is heavy. It is a good bit heavier than my corded Impact Wrench. It is a lot heavier than Porter Cable's cordless Drill Driver and 1/4" Impact gun. It is also much larger than the Drill Driver and just fits into the bag that came with the Drill and Impact gun. If you plan to use it for long periods of time, get the 5 amp hour batteries. I have the 1.5 AH and 2.0 AH batteries and the Impact Wrench drains them pretty quick. I was able to rotate the tires on 1 vehicle with the 1.5 AH battery and that's just removing the lugs. I don't use the Impact Wrench to put lug nuts on. ... show more

    • Four years old but weak
I have owned this impact driver for four years and it still works well. Grip is good and prefer larger battery for better balance. The negative is that I do not believe the 330 ft lb of torque. Just had my car inspected and asked my mechanic what his air wrench was set at when he took my wheels on and off and he told me 100 lbs. this impact driver barely got the lug nuts off when I tried it when I got home. If you are looking for power my guess is there are better products out there. ... show more

Pressed this into service in a commercial repair shop. I am stunned at the TQ this relatively inexpensive tool delivers. Go for the highest amp hour battery you can find to keep TQ constant for Al long as possible.
