I enjoy this portable refrigerated air conditioner very much. Prior to this unit I had purchased a portable swamp cooler that was just awful to use. I hated to constantly have to replace the frozen packs that lasted only an hour or so. And don’t get me started about the mess. I ordered this unit after researching every other air conditioner on Amazon. Most of them are similar; set up the external vent system, plug and run. The noise hums at the sound of window units but it doesn’t cycle on and off so that’s a plus. I have mine in my Southern exposure living room in New Mexico where I was sweltering in the heat all summer as with most of the Southwest. It took 30 minutes to unbox and assemble the hose and window fittings. As with other customers I purchased a dampener because it makes sense to keep bugs, leaves and other detritus out of the tubing. Another plus is that the residual heat doesn’t vent back into the room after it’s turned off. I will definitely be purchasing another unit for use in my bedroom because these portable air conditioner’s allow me to keep my central AC unit off and just chill the rooms I’m using. This unit cools a space quickly and efficiently—I find myself adjusting the coldness down after only thirty minutes! I couldn’t ask for more, I’m a very satisfied customer. :) ... show more

I needed a portable AC for my daughter's room since I was not able to install a window unit in the front of the house due to neighborhood restrictions. It was easy to set up and install (though the instructions could be a bit better). I did have to cut the length of the part that goes into the window since the window was a bit too narrow. Cutting it was no problem with a regular hand saw. Controls are easy to understand and use and the noise level is fairly low. It makes less noise than the window unit in my bedroom. Cools the room like a charm. We have not yet had to empty the condensation tray at the bottom, but I will come back and let everyone know how that goes and how difficult and messy it is. Definitely recommend this unit. So, I am back to write about emptying the water tray. The tube they give you did not work. My daughter and I just picked up the unit and poured it into a baking dish. This is a great, portable air conditioner. It cooled down my living room super fast. Easy to install into the window. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars is because of the remote. Set this up in a 250 sq ft. bedroom. Vented out a window and wella! 70 degrees all day. Don't need the drain system if a little humidity is okay. Just put it on the cool setting. Easy peasy.
