Okee dokee let’s be honest this is not your typical air conditioning machine,,,nope not even close. If your expecting that I’d say move on.,.this won’t cool your house. HOWEVER, it’s WELL worth the money, in fact I bought two. ( Well I bought one then loved that so much I bought it a friend) Now for those who say it only runs four hours? Turn off the timer button and it will run forever. You have options. This little fan is powerful it will blow wind about 10 to 12 feet away ,but is most effective at close range, and will mist just slightly if you choose… I run this baby all night and have not put in my usual window conditioning. I’m not suggesting you do the same, I’m just sick of the window air conditioner. This preforms near as good with out blowing in pollen, dust or upsetting my husbands asthma. Plus we don’t have to break our back to put it in, and we can still open windows. So pros and cons Pros Very affordable to buy Extremely Light weight and portable Small size for how powerful the fan is Remotes awesome Adorable colorful lights ( option to turn off) Quieter than a standard rotation fan Don’t need ice or water to run ( optional) super duper cheap to run..win win,! If it’s unbearably hot you can sit it rite beside you and you will eventually need a blanket ..( probably eye drops too) So overall those are reasons to buy this adorable little machine. I was far more impressed than expected. Plus the mini humidifier is great if the weathers dry. Cons Doesn’t rotate Cords a bit short Ice or water really don’t make any difference with how cool the air feels…but it’s fun to add. Infact I’m not even sure water makes a difference I tested it three ways . It’s really not going to cool down the house but it will bring relief if near by you. Its a glorified fan, but it works…very well. Infact I bought two. So overall just buy it, don’t expect it to preform like a 40 to 50 pound window air conditioner or powerful central air …it’s got its limitations…go easy on it ..but it’s excellent value for the size, convenience, and price. Don’t be fooled by the reviews like I was, this is just a fan. It did just what a fan does in an already hot space; it circulated the hot air, and when sat by a window, brought in enough cool air to keep me from over heating and passing out! I mean all these raving reviews of how it works wonders when I just don't see how this could even cool off a small office. Maybe, if you’re going to use it in a room where central air is already present and you need a bit more chill (like if you’re a night sweater and you sit it on your nightstand or if you’re an old lady like me who has personal summers from time to time lol) only then I could see this living up to the hype ..but again it’s really just a fan. Thought about returning it, but by Truck doesn’t have any AC right now and this unit is providing me with some bit of relief. Its quiet enough that it didn’t bother me as I slept with it in the truck sleeper. I haven’t had the opportunity to use the remote control but I guess it’s nice to have. I purchased this on a deal when it was $20 off and I’m glad I did because it’s definitely not worth $60. 7/28 Update: One of the reasons I purchase this item & gave it a chance was because of the reviews. But now I know why.. After leaving my initial 2-star review the seller contacted me by mail. They made me an offer in attempt to change my review :( No shade to anyone else but I have integrity and will not be persuaded to help deceive other shoppers. Shoppers, like myself, who work hard and may be serious about their coins so they read through the reviews to see about the item they’re buying.     • WHAT IT IS and WHAT IT ISN'T - nice quality misting fan (not air conditioner or evaporative cooler)
***UPDATED REVIEW*** OUTSTANDING CUSTOMER SERVICE - the company really cares about providing a quality product and customer satisfaction. After my original review, they reached out to see if they could help. I want to clarify my earlier review... CLARIFICATION - this is a high-quality misting fan. It is great construction and works perfectly as a misting fan. When it is blowing on you, and the mist hits your skin, it will feel cooler than an ordinary fan. The interesting thing about this is that it has a honeycomb-style matrix in front of the fan blades that collects extra mist and redirects it down to a reservoir. You can see that honeycomb matrix in the picture, but note it is not a traditional filter-type that you would expect for an evaporative cooler. That is the reason for my original review - this is definitely not an evaporative cooler (sends air through a water-soaked filter that through evaporation cools the air), or an air conditioner (uses freon and a cooling exhange with external exhaust fan to cool the air). But this is a great misting fan that gives the sensation of surface skin feeling cooler. As long as you know what you are getting, you will be happy. I personally needed an evaporative cooler for a specific purpose (cooling area for pet bunnies), so it didn't fit my particular need, so this one was an exact fit for my purpose. And (again!) I really appreciated the proactive customer support and caring seller. I have updated the star ranking to reflect that. . . . ***ORIGINAL REVIEW*** I wanted to like this little fan, and I was hoping it was one of those small evaporative coolers that actually cools the air. But that is not what this is. It is a neat and quiet little USB powered fan, with a water reserve that can be used as a misting function. The LED lights are usable as a night-light or such, and the remote can be useful to some. But, keep in mind that this does not actually cool the temperature of the air, even in small spaces. However, if you are just looking for a misting fan, then this might work for you. I will be returning this item and keep looking for a portable evaporative cooler (pushes air through wet filters to actually make the temperature lower). Good luck! ... show more
