Very easy to use and relatively easy to set up. I had crank windows so I had to get an adapter kit, but it did not cause any problems there. The remote control is wonderful, and for the money spent it does a great job of cooling a bedroom, and even helping with cooling the rest of the house.

Update: I bought a 8000 BTU option but just found out it is only 5000 BTU. The only place it was mentioned is on the energy consumption yellow sticker tucked inside packaging. It can't cool a small bedroom now during the day when it's 95 degrees outside. Initial review: It works but it is very loud. It was very difficult to install the window panels as they didn't fit my windows. This brand only provides two panels, no additional panel like other brands do. I had to use a hacksaw to cut the panel to fit. The exhaust pipe is a nightmare as well, too heavy and falls out, pulling the window panels with it. They don't include any insulation strips at all! you have to have your own. I had to add so much extra insulation to lift the panel so the pipe would lay on my windowsill, and at least be somewhat supported from falling out. Also, taped everything down with a lot of tape! A 20 minute work took me 2 hours because of how poorly everything designed. And the worst of all, it leaks badly! Sometimes there's no water coming from the drain pipe and sometimes it's gallon after gallon. I had it leaked twice. Once the bucket overflowed and soaked a couch and a mattress pad that was on the floor. Second time, the drainage tube flopped out of the bucket and the leak went down to the first floor and damaged the sealing. As I said because the water outflow is random you have to tape everything to everything, including the drainage pipe and the drainage bucket. Basically, you have to babysit this air conditioner, you can't leave the room at all! ever! I can't find any information about draining in the manual. This is my fourth portable air conditioner and all the rest were self-evaporative, they came with the drain pipe but I never had to use it, none of them ever leaked. The AC is really great and provides a great temperature to the area it is in. I did have one break, most likely due to my cats, and the customer service support was incredible. It's a small A/C that does a good job cooling a small room. It won't chill a room like a windows unit but gor the price and ease of installation it's worth it. Setting the unit up is simple. The biggest issue is fitting the exhaust to the window if the opening is too narrow for the telescopic slider. You'll have to cut the plastic extension down so the exhaust will fit in the opening while fully retracted. Try not to have any kinks in your exhaust hose. Efficiency is important. I put my unit on a short platform to make it easy to drain the condensate tank. You never want to spill condensate water. It reeks! I gave the unit a 4 out of 5. It works fine, inexpensive. fairly quiet, cools ok and is simple to operate, especially with the remote. Good purchase. Now we just need to see how long it lasts. ... show more

Nice and cold It’s a portable a/c so don’t expect to function as a package unit or split system. It is nothing more than a heat remover. Uses r32 refrigerant which is the newest a2l refrigerant. It cycles on and off potentially to go into a type of defrost mode. Doesn’t fill up with condensate too quickly. 8000k btu capacity i find that hard to believe but thats the rating. 15amp circuit and for the price you shouldn’t expect too much but it does cool. Make sure to vent through window to outside. The exhaust hoses gets hot, also know that while the unit cools it also heats if that makes sense. ... show more

Worst installation directions ever! These installation directions were extremely difficult to follow. The hose did not fit either the window panel or the back of the unit, so I had to use duct tape to hold everything together. Additionally, the window slider was far too large—even for my big windows—and I had to cut it down to size. While the unit works, the installation process was very challenging. ... show more

Great AC. Easy to setup and it cools down fast. The noise level is normal for an air conditioner. I found that the cool and the dehumid noise level to be the same, with the fan noise level a bit lower. I think this is great for small apartments and large room cooling. Just got it so no opinion on durability. Comfort level is nice, it definitatly take the edge of on hot humid days.
