Great set for spending time with kids. It’s fun at every stage: unpacking, constructing and playing afterwards. Wooden pieces might have little splinters when you separate them, but the set has a sandpaper files so you can always smoothen edges out. The set has literally everything you need except for the batteries. These come to be very sturdy. After we’ve put them together they’ve been thrown a few times but the worst that happened - batteries flew out. Great way to help kids learn a little, exercise fine motor skills and keep them entertained on a weekend or after school. Would make a nice gift. ... show more

This was a really great kit for my 6 year old that loves to build. He got to assemble and paint each vehicle on his own... and in some cases, trade out the different motors to give some of them a more competitive edge when they are raced against one another. By the far the jeep and the race car were the best ones in the kit, with the wind car coming in last on the favorability chart. This was a great starter kit to other STEM builds I'm hoping to get him in the future. ... show more

I was very impressed by the fact that they gave 5 separate motors and battery units , which allow you to build and use all 5 vehicles independently. Usually kits like these have you reuse the electric parts, but this is great -- no disassembling and taking out vital parts of the old vehicle required! you can run all 5 at once! great for kids 8 and up. Instructions are easy enough to follow but I took one star out because of come confusion caused by different colored parts than stated in the manual (but my genius boy, smarter than me, figured it all out while I was left scratching my head...) ... show more

    • BIG PATIENCE with tiny parts
We assembled 3 of the 5 toys. Each toy is bagged separately and the instruction booklets were loose in the box. The bags were not labeled, so we had to look at the pictures in the booklets and match it up with the parts in the bag. It's all "assemble by picture". Sometimes it could get frustrating. EX - putting a gear on the left side instead of the right caused the car to go in reverse. And of course it was step 2 of a 15 step process! So we had to take it all apart and redo it. Wood panels are fragile. If the kid gets too aggressive with tightening the (tiny) screws, the wood can split. Extra screws are provided in each packet. The 2 screwdrivers provided are magnetic, which makes it more convenient. Overall, it was still fun. I had a 4, 8 and 9 yr old each put together their own car. The older kids were able to do 90% of it themselves. *The airplane does not 'drive'', only the propeller spins. (or we assembled it wrong, which is also possible) The jeep is surprisingly faster than the race car ... show more

Instructions were very difficult to follow and there were missing pieces when trying to assemble! Very frustrating. Would NOT recommend this product at all!

    • Keeps them Busy
Got this for our grandson for Christmas. He loved loved them. He built 3 of them and we had to stop him from finishing the box. We still have a few left. Easy to assemble and runs on 2 AAA batteries. It gave him a great feat of accomplishment when he turned on the switch and it ran.
